Apollon reportedly brought legal claims against businessman Craig Gabriel over the deal, alleging breach of contract and fraudulent misrepresentation. The reporting says Heskey was not accused of wrongdoing; “fraudulent” describes an allegation, not an established court finding.
What was the proposed Apollon Limassol deal?
AllFootball reported in March 2026 that British businessman Craig Gabriel offered to invest £15 million in Apollon Limassol in 2025. Gabriel and Heskey reportedly visited the club and met officials and fans. Heskey was said to have been lined up as the club’s director of football if the deal went ahead. AllFootball’s March 2026 report
The proposed investment did not, according to the report, result in the promised instalments being paid. Apollon’s account of the arrangement and the alleged missed payments is part of its claims, not a finding that the allegations are true.
What does “fraudulent” mean in this report?
Apollon reportedly sued Gabriel through the Cyprus courts, claiming £8 million and alleging breach of contract and fraudulent misrepresentation. The report also describes related action in the UK High Court and says asset-freezing orders were obtained in Cyprus and the UK. These are reports about legal proceedings and interim measures; they do not establish that a court has found fraud or decided the underlying claims in Apollon’s favour. The report says Gabriel represented his wealth as £425 million, including £250 million attributed to emeralds and wealth largely associated with Redhat Capital. It further says he later disclosed assets of no more than £540,000. Those figures are attributed to the report’s account of the claims and court documents; they are not independent findings presented here.
What was Emile Heskey’s role, and is he accused of wrongdoing?
Heskey’s reported role was as a public-facing associate of Gabriel’s proposal and a prospective football executive, rather than as the alleged investor. The March 2026 report says he was not accused of wrongdoing.

Apollon president Nikos Kirzis was quoted by AllFootball as saying: “Gabriel visited Apollon a number of times with Heskey, and we are keen to reach out to Heskey in respect of what he knew about Gabriel’s purported plans for the club and whether Gabriel also misrepresented his wealth and ability to invest in the club to Heskey.” This is a statement reproduced in secondary reporting. The reported wish to contact Heskey is not evidence of a court order requiring him to testify.

The consulted March 2026 reports do not establish a final court judgment or the current procedural status of the Cyprus and UK proceedings. It is therefore not possible to say from those reports whether the claims have since been resolved, withdrawn, or decided. The allegations should be distinguished from any eventual court determination.
