For Xbox, the release announcement describes Xbox Play Anywhere support across Xbox console, Windows Store, ROG Xbox Ally, and Xbox Cloud Gaming. It also says Xbox players would receive content and improvements added to the PC version over the preceding year. Xbox Wire’s announcement has the platform details. Funcom’s PlayStation announcement describes PS5 and PS5 Pro optimization and a full single-player mode. Read the PlayStation Blog announcement.
What did each launch edition include?
At launch, Funcom listed three editions. The contents below describe the launch offer, not a guarantee that every edition or bonus remains available in every store or region. Before paying, compare the exact product listing for your platform and territory.

| Launch edition | Included content | Launch access timing |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | One copy of the base game. The launch preorder offer could also include the Terrarium of Muad’Dib and Sunset Dye Global Swatch. | No five-day head start. |
| Deluxe | Base game, Season Pass covering the first four DLCs, Sardaukar Bator Armor, and the launch preorder benefits. | Five-day head start around launch. |
| Ultimate | Deluxe contents, plus Dusk Rider Sandbike Swatch, Blue Dasher Ornithopter Swatch, Caladan Palace Building Set, Dune (2021) Film Stillsuit, a 50-page digital artbook, and a 90-minute digital soundtrack. | Five-day head start around launch. |
Funcom’s Help Center provides the edition and preorder-benefit breakdown. Xbox Wire also summarizes Ultimate contents and confirms the Deluxe Season Pass included the first four DLCs. The Season Pass is distinct from separately sold add-on content; Bandai Namco Europe listed the Filmic Archive DLC at $9.99. That is an optional add-on price, not the price of an edition or a preorder reward, and the live listing may differ by region or date. See Bandai Namco Europe’s launch information.
What were the preorder bonuses, and can you still get them?
The launch preorder rewards were the Terrarium of Muad’Dib, an in-base decoration, and the Sunset Dye Global Swatch, a color pattern usable on weapons, vehicles, armor, and outfits. They were time-limited launch benefits, not standard contents promised with every current purchase. Deluxe and Ultimate also received a five-day head start; for the console launch, that access began September 17, 2026, ahead of the September 22 release.

Because the launch has passed, do not assume a store page’s old preorder wording means the reward is still claimable. Check the current platform store or ask the retailer whether the bonus is included and whether its code remains valid in your region. The PS Store’s US Standard listing showed preorder-reward copy alongside the product listing, so that wording alone does not establish present eligibility. Check the live US PlayStation Store listing and the Funcom Help Center terms.
How much does Dune: Awakening cost?
Prices depend on region, platform, edition, and promotion, and store prices can change. The official US PlayStation Store listing showed the PS5 Standard Edition at $49.99 when checked. Xbox Wire stated a $49.99 Xbox preorder price at launch. Neither figure establishes the current price of other editions or territories; use the live listing for the price you will actually pay. The US PS Store listing is the cited PlayStation reference, while Xbox Wire reported the Xbox launch price.

Bandai Namco Europe said a 50% Steam discount would run through October 8, 2026. That was a dated promotion, not an evergreen PC price; check Steam for current pricing. Bandai Namco Europe’s release and physical-edition notice covered the promotion and retail details.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is there a physical PS5 edition?
Yes. A physical PS5 edition is available, but stock, price, and any included code or bonus can vary by retailer and region. Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe distributes it in EMEA, Australia, and New Zealand; Solutions 2 GO distributes it in North and South America; Spike Chunsoft handles Japan, where the stated release date is October 29, 2026. These distribution details do not guarantee stock at a particular shop. Confirm the edition, delivery region, included items, and final price on the retailer’s current product page. Bandai Namco Europe lists the regional distribution information.
Which edition should you buy?
- Choose Standard if you want the base game and do not value the additional cosmetics, digital items, or Season Pass contents.
- Consider Deluxe if the first four DLCs included in its Season Pass and Sardaukar Bator Armor are worth the price difference to you. Its five-day head start was a launch-only timing benefit, not an ongoing advantage now that the game is released.
- Consider Ultimate if you specifically want its additional vehicle and building cosmetics, film-inspired Stillsuit, digital artbook, and soundtrack. Compare the current price gap against the extras you will actually use.
- For a disc copy, compare the physical PS5 listing with the digital listing in your region, and verify retailer-specific bonus language rather than relying on old preorder descriptions.
For a personal-finance-minded comparison, focus on the current price difference and the value you place on included content—not launch-era access perks that have expired. The official launch breakdown is useful for understanding what the editions originally contained, while the current store or retailer listing determines what is offered with a purchase today.
