The announcement concerned Section Officer (Horticulture), or SO (Horticulture), under DSSSB Advertisement No. 05/2023. Scroll reported 108 vacancies in total, divided between two departments:

Application dates and fee reported for the 2024 notice
Scroll reported that online applications opened January 9, 2024 and closed February 7, 2024. Both dates have passed; this is not an active application window.

Scroll also reported a ₹100 application fee for General-category applicants and an exemption for women, SC, ST, PwBD and ex-serviceman applicants. Because the fee clause is not confirmed in the official notice text available here, verify it against the original advertisement rather than treating the news report as the authoritative fee rule.
Where to check for current DSSSB vacancies
For a live recruitment, begin at the DSSSB recruitment page, which directs candidates to OARS for latest recruitment and current vacancies. The official vacancy archive can also help identify later notices. Follow the instructions and dates in the notice for the specific post; an archived notice or old application link does not reopen a recruitment.

How DSSSB OARS registration works
DSSSB’s OARS FAQ describes registration as a one-time exercise. It says applicants register using personal details, their Class 10 roll number, a valid email address and mobile number. After registration, they log in to apply to posts using their date of birth, Class 10 roll number and passing year.
