DRDO’s Research Centre Imarat (RCI) advertised 200 one-year apprentice places for FY 2024–25, but that application cycle is over. The 2024 notice covered 40 graduate, 40 diploma technician and 120 ITI trade apprentices. It was posted on DRDO’s website; applicants were directed to separate government apprenticeship portals based on their qualification.
What the 2024 RCI apprentice notice offered
Research Centre Imarat is a DRDO laboratory in the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex in Hyderabad. Its notice, RCI/HRD/Apprenticeship/Advt/2024-25, advertised one year of apprenticeship training during FY 2024–25. The official advertisement listed these 200 places:

Who was eligible under the 2024 notice?
The advertisement said candidates had to be Indian nationals and at least 18 years old on 1 August 2024. It restricted applications to regular candidates who had completed the qualifying degree, diploma or ITI examination in 2022, 2023 or 2024, with marks above 60%. The notice also set additional restrictions, so these points alone do not establish eligibility; applicants would have needed to check the complete advertisement against their circumstances.

How the application process worked
Although the notice appeared on DRDO’s website, it instructed candidates to register and apply through the relevant government portal. The routes differed by qualification:
- Graduate and diploma candidates: Register on NATS 2.0 and submit an application through the Research Centre Imarat establishment entry.
- ITI trade candidates: Register on Apprenticeship India, select Research Centre Imarat, and apply for the relevant trade.
The 2024 application route is historical and should not be used to infer the process for another recruitment cycle.
What was the last date to apply?
The accessible official notice text gave the deadline as 21 days after the advertisement’s publication in a newspaper. The exact newspaper publication date, and therefore the resulting calendar deadline, is not confirmed by the available official source material. A precise date should not be inferred from third-party listings that disagree.
Training period, stipend and employment
The advertised apprenticeship training lasted one year. The notice referred to government norms and the Gazette notification dated 25 September 2019 for stipend; the available excerpt does not establish a per-category rupee amount, so one should not be assumed.
Completing training did not guarantee a DRDO job. The Director of RCI’s advertisement stated: “The engagement and training are strictly in compliance with the provision of the Apprenticeship Act 1961 and there is no obligation for employment of apprentices on completion of their training.”

The 200 places were part of the FY 2024–25 notice, not an open 2026 application round. DRDO’s vacancies listing shows a separate RCI 2027 apprentice notice published on 1 October 2026, with an end date of 1 November 2026. This is a different recruitment cycle: check the DRDO vacancies listing and the current notice for its own eligibility, application route and deadline rather than relying on the 2024 terms.
