DRDO’s Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory (DMRL) in Hyderabad advertised 127 indicative ITI apprentice posts for training year 2024–25. Applications are closed: the deadline was 31 May 2024, so this is a historical recruitment notice, not an open application in 2026.
How many vacancies were advertised, and in which trades?

What was the last date to apply?
The deadline was 31 May 2024. The recruitment was for one year of ITI apprenticeship training in 2024–25; the notice’s application route is no longer open. Who was eligible for the DMRL apprenticeship?
The notice required applicants to have passed the relevant ITI qualification as regular candidates through NCVT or SCVT. It excluded applicants who had already completed apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act or were undertaking it at the time. Applicants with higher qualifications were also stated to be ineligible. Eligibility was tied to the relevant trade, so the notice should be checked for its full terms rather than assuming any ITI credential qualified.
How did the application process work?
Applicants were required to complete both registration on Apprenticeship India and DMRL’s Google form. The registration number from Apprenticeship India had to be entered in the DMRL form so it could be verified during selection or document verification.

How long was the training, and was a stipend specified?
The proposed training period was one year, beginning from execution of the apprenticeship contract. The notice said a stipend would be provided under apprenticeship rules, but the reviewed notice does not state an amount. It also said no allowances beyond the consolidated stipend would be admissible.
Did a DRDO apprenticeship guarantee a job?
No. The notice explicitly states: “Completion of training does not entitle the candidates to any right for claiming temporary / permanent job in DMRL.” Apprenticeship was training, not a promise of employment.
What other conditions did the notice set?
- DMRL said it would not provide hostel accommodation, quarters or transport.
