The DRDO DMRL apprentice application deadline was May 31, 2024, and the recruitment is closed. The Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory in Hyderabad advertised 127 one-year ITI apprenticeship places across nine trades for FY 2024–25. This is a historical notice, not an open application or a permanent DRDO job.
What the 2024 DMRL notice offered
DRDO’s DMRL notice described the engagement as “purely for ONE YEAR apprenticeship Training.” The 127 places were indicative; the notice said the number could change after the final assessment of eligible applications.

For a current opportunity, check DRDO’s latest vacancy information and the relevant laboratory’s own notification. DRDO says laboratories publish staffing requirements in the organisation’s “what’s new” section and on their lab pages; its general apprentice application guidance explains where to look.
DMRL apprentice eligibility stated in the notice
- Applicants needed to have passed ITI in the trade for which they applied.
- The notice specified regular candidates who passed the qualifying examination from NCVT or SCVT.
- Anyone who had already undergone, or was then undergoing, an apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act was ineligible under this notice.
The available notice text does not establish a specific age cap, marks threshold, domicile condition or selection formula. Do not assume those conditions from a different DRDO recruitment notice.
DMRL apprentice stipend and reservation
DMRL said, “Stipend will be provided as per the Apprenticeship rules.” The notice does not state a rupee amount, so a specific monthly stipend cannot be confirmed from it. It also said SC/ST/OBC/PWD reservation would apply under the Apprentices Act, Apprentice Rules and Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules.
