The product description on the website at launch called the shoes “your rally cry in shoe form” and urged customers to “Lace-up and step out ready to conquer.” Those were the site’s marketing words, not a statement attributed to Trump. The website launched the same day as the appearance, according to Gizmodo’s February 17, 2024 report.
Why does the website say it is not political?
The current official store FAQ says: “GetTrumpSneakers.com is not political and has nothing to do with any political campaign.” That is the store’s description of its business. It should be read alongside the launch setting: AP reported that Trump appeared at Sneaker Con while campaigning and that campaign officials promoted his appearance online.

The store’s current FAQ also says 45Footwear is not owned, managed, or controlled by Donald J. Trump, The Trump Organization, or CIC Ventures LLC. It says 45Footwear uses Trump’s name, likeness, and image under a paid license from CIC Ventures LLC, and the site footer says the sneakers are not designed, manufactured, distributed, or sold by Trump or the named affiliates.
Ownership descriptions have varied by time and source. AP reported at launch that the site said it was run by CIC Ventures LLC, which Trump reported owning in his 2023 financial disclosure. The current store FAQ describes a licensed arrangement involving 45Footwear and CIC Ventures. Those statements are not interchangeable: the current FAQ describes the store’s present account of its licensing and control, while AP reported what the site said at launch.
What does the $399 price tell buyers?
The $399 figure is the launch price AP reported for the gold Never Surrender High-Tops in February 2024. It is a historical launch price, not confirmation of the current price or availability. Gizmodo reported that other styles were listed at lower prices at launch, but those historical listings do not establish today’s prices.
Gizmodo also noted that product images carried a disclaimer that they were illustrative and might not exactly match the product. The current store FAQ likewise cautions that product images may not exactly represent the item.
