Re:

Does Zachery Ty Bryan Still Earn “Massive” Home Improvement Royalties?

A report says Bryan’s variable SAG-AFTRA residuals were seized toward a judgment. It does not show his current annual income or establish that his royalties are massive.

There is no verified evidence that Zachery Ty Bryan currently earns “massive” royalties from Home Improvement. A March 2025 report said his SAG-AFTRA residual payments varied and that some were seized toward a reported $108,000 judgment. It did not disclose his current annual residual income or how much, if anything, he keeps after collection.

What is known about Bryan’s residual income?

A March 18, 2025 report by In Touch, republished by Yahoo Entertainment, attributed details to court documents and said Bryan described his SAG-AFTRA residuals as varying. The same report said residuals were seized toward a $108,000 judgment. Read the report.

The $108,000 figure is the reported judgment, not Bryan’s royalty income. The report supplies no current annual total, payment-by-payment history, remaining judgment balance, or verified net income. It therefore cannot establish that the payments were large, or show how much disposable income Bryan receives from them. The account is secondary reporting attributed to court documents, not a current statement from Bryan or his representative.

Why reruns do not reveal an actor’s earnings

SAG-AFTRA defines residuals as “additional compensation paid to performers when a production is shown beyond the original use covered by the initial compensation.” The union’s guidance explains that residuals are governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement, and depend on later uses and markets; payment timing and reported amounts can also vary. SAG-AFTRA’s TV and theatrical residuals guide and its residuals resources describe the framework.

That means the number of times a show airs—or the fact that it remains available—does not provide enough information to calculate one performer’s current income. A meaningful estimate would require Bryan’s actual payments over a defined period, the relevant markets and contract terms, and any deductions or collections. No verified comparison with other Home Improvement performers is available in the cited material, so a peer-based estimate would be speculation.

What the reported legal cases do—and do not—show

The legal developments are relevant context, but they do not supply an updated royalty figure. The Los Angeles Times reported that Bryan pleaded guilty in February 2026 to felony DUI charges stemming from a 2024 arrest in La Quinta. He was sentenced to 16 months in jail, with credit for 57 days already served. Read the Times report on the sentence.

In a December 2025 report, the Times said Bryan had been arrested in Oregon in November on suspicion of violating probation related to his 2023 felony assault conviction. The article reported that he had pleaded guilty to fourth-degree felony assault in 2023 and was placed on supervised probation with conditions. An arrest on suspicion of a probation violation is not itself proof of a new conviction. Read the Times report on the Oregon arrest.

These reports do not establish Bryan’s custody status now, nor do they describe any residual payments or garnishment developments after the March 2025 report. They should not be used to infer that his residuals stopped, increased, or remain at a particular level.

What can be concluded about “massive” royalties?

  • Residual payments: The 2025 report indicates that Bryan received variable residuals, but it does not provide a current payment total.
  • Collection: The report says residuals were seized toward a judgment it put at $108,000; it does not establish the balance still owed or the amount currently withheld.
  • Scale of income: There is no verified annual figure or other evidence here that supports calling the royalties “massive.”
