There is no verified evidence that Tom Brady regrets investing in Birmingham City. The sources available document his minority investment and public comments about sports ownership, but none reports him saying he regrets this particular deal or establishes his private view.

Has Tom Brady said he regrets investing in Birmingham City?

No. The cited reports contain no direct statement from Brady saying he regrets the investment. That does not prove he is satisfied; it means the claim in the headline is speculation, not an established fact.

In a July 2025 interview about his sports ownership portfolio, Brady said, “I don’t look at it from a business standpoint,” and, “I look at it from a purpose-driven standpoint.” Those remarks describe how he says he approaches ownership generally. They do not address whether he is happy with his Birmingham City investment.

What is known about Brady’s role at Birmingham City?

His involvement began in 2023

On 3 August 2023, the BBC reported that Brady became a minority owner of Birmingham City through a partnership with the club’s new owners, Knighthead Capital Management. He was also named chair of a new advisory board. The announcement did not disclose his ownership percentage or investment amount.

#1 Best Overall
Birmingham United Kingdom Travel City Adult & Youth Soccer Jersey
  • Short-sleeve, crew neck jersey made from moisture-wicking, odor-fighting fabric that keeps you cool and comfortable from morning to night.
  • A versatile casual performance jersey with contrast color blocking on the neck and sleeves, designed for everyday wear, available in Adult and Youth sizes.
  • Printed in the USA using durable Direct-to-Film printing technology for vibrant, long-lasting results.

At the time, Brady called Birmingham “an iconic club with so much history and passion” and said being part of the Blues was “a real honour.” Knighthead co-founder Tom Wagner described Brady joining the club as “a statement of intent.” These comments recorded their outlook at the time of the announcement; they do not establish Brady’s current sentiment or the investment’s financial performance. Operational control later changed

In November 2025, the BBC reported that Shelby Companies Limited (SCL) had completed a 100% takeover of Birmingham City and would remain responsible for the club’s operations. The report described Brady as a minor investor. A full takeover by SCL is not a statement of Brady’s stake, return, or view of his investment. BBC’s November 2025 ownership report

What the public record does—and does not—show

Question What the cited reports establish
Did Brady become an investor? Yes. He became a minority owner in 2023; his percentage was not stated in the BBC announcement.
Did he say he regrets the investment? No such statement appears in the cited reports.
What is his current stake? Not stated in the cited BBC reports.
How much did he invest, or what return has he earned? Not stated in the cited reports.
Who was responsible for club operations after the takeover? SCL, according to the BBC’s November 2025 report.

Brady’s position as a minority investor and advisory-board chair should not be confused with operational control. Nor does club performance, on its own, establish whether an individual investor regrets a decision. Without a direct comment or reliable financial evidence, neither regret nor a successful return can be inferred.

Why the headline is not a confirmed conclusion

“May be regretting” presents a possibility, not proof. The evidence supports a narrower account: Brady invested as a minority owner in 2023, later described his broader ownership outlook as purpose-driven, and was still described as a minor investor in the BBC’s November 2025 report on SCL’s takeover. None of those facts answers how he privately feels about this specific investment.
