The figure has circulated as a rumor, but neither the show’s official page nor its official talent page discloses his compensation. His exact pay remains unverified in the available public sources.
What is confirmed about Seacrest’s role—and what is not
Sony Pictures Entertainment’s official Wheel of Fortune page identifies Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White as the show’s current hosts. Paramount Press Express’s official talent page also lists Seacrest as a host. Neither page states his salary or publishes contract terms.
The Associated Press reported on the transition in which Seacrest succeeded Pat Sajak after Sajak announced his retirement, but that coverage does not disclose Seacrest’s pay: AP’s host-transition report.
Where the $28 million figure comes from
Celebrity Net Worth’s account of Ryan Seacrest’s salary describes $28 million a year as an early insider rumor that circulated in 2023 and 2024. That establishes that the number was reported as a rumor; it does not establish that the amount appears in Seacrest’s contract or is his confirmed annual salary.

Why an old SEC filing does not verify his show salary
A separate historical SEC filing mentions $28.5 million in connection with older business arrangements. It concerns neither Seacrest’s Wheel of Fortune compensation nor a verified annual host salary. The filing is from a different period and relates to separate arrangements associated with his earlier work and business entities: the 2010 SEC filing and the 2009 SEC exhibit. The similar dollar amounts are not evidence of his current game-show contract.
