Yes. Roblox says it removes or disables content identified in a valid copyright notice or otherwise known to infringe, and it may suspend or terminate accounts for repeat or egregious infringement in appropriate circumstances. Creators are responsible for having the rights to everything they publish. A moderation decision is not, by itself, a legal ruling on whether a particular use is lawful.
What Roblox’s copyright rules require
Roblox’s US Terms of Use describe a copyright process for rights holders and their authorized agents. Roblox says it will remove or disable access to content it knows infringes or that is identified in a valid DMCA notice. Its repeat-infringer policy also says it may suspend or terminate accounts, and block access to its services, for repeated or egregious infringement in appropriate circumstances. That does not mean every report results in a ban.
Creators have a separate obligation: Roblox’s Terms of Use say a creator must own or be fully authorized to grant rights in every part of published user-generated content (UGC). Use material you made yourself, licensed, or otherwise have permission to use. Keep the relevant license, permission, or other records, including for music, images, and meshes.
How Roblox reviews and enforces copyright rules
Roblox describes a multi-step review process for creator uploads such as images, meshes, audio, and video. Its Community Standards say audio files are scanned for intellectual-property infringement, flagged or reported material may be reviewed by people, and systems are used to prevent re-uploads of identical or similar content already removed. Roblox says consequences vary with the violation and the user’s history; repeat policy violations may bring more severe action.

These descriptions do not establish that every copyrighted upload will be detected, that a system can reliably determine who owns a work, or that enforcement happens on a fixed schedule.
What to do if Roblox removes your content
First, read the notice and identify what kind of action it describes. A DMCA copyright removal and a general moderation action use different response routes.

If the removal followed a DMCA notice
If you believe the removal was mistaken or you have authorization, Roblox’s US Terms of Use allow you to send a counter-notice to its Copyright Agent. This is a legal process, not a routine appeal button. Roblox may forward the counter-notice, including relevant contact details, to the original complainant. The Terms say content may be restored or access re-enabled, at Roblox’s discretion, within 10 to 14 business days or more after receipt, unless the complainant files an action seeking a court order. Restoration is not guaranteed.
The Terms specify information a notice must include: the authorized person’s physical or electronic signature; identification of the copyrighted work; identification and location of the material alleged to infringe; the complainant’s address, telephone number, and email; a good-faith belief that the use is unauthorized; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and the complainant is authorized to act. Roblox warns that an incomplete notice may not be valid. The Terms list [email protected] and a postal address for the US Copyright Agent; check the live Terms for current contact details before sending anything. Because a counter-notice can have legal consequences, consider qualified legal advice if you are unsure whether you have a sound basis.

If the action was general moderation
For an eligible content or account moderation action, follow the appeal channel named in Roblox’s notification: Violations & Appeals or the Support form. Roblox’s Appeal Your Content or Account Moderation guidance states a general 30-day appeal period. Only the account owner may appeal, and Roblox says a moderation decision that has been reviewed cannot be reviewed again. The guidance states that users in the EU have six months to appeal an initial moderation action and describes additional dispute options. These general moderation appeals are not a substitute for a DMCA counter-notice.
How IP Platform Claims differ from takedowns
Roblox’s IP Platform Terms of Use, marked last updated September 23, 2026, describe Claims as a way for eligible rights holders or authorized representatives to resolve disputes directly with users over certain UGC. Access is eligibility-based and may be revoked.

A Claim is not itself a DMCA or intellectual-property takedown notice, and it does not establish that infringement occurred. If a Claim is undisputed, specified UGC can be delisted from the marketplace or creator store, while users who already obtained it may continue using it. If the user disputes the Claim, the rights holder can escalate by submitting an IP takedown notice.
