What Krispy Kreme’s records establish
In an August 25, 2021 release, Krispy Kreme said it gave away more than 30 million free doughnuts in 2020 to healthcare workers, teachers, graduating seniors, and others. That is a combined figure across groups; it is not a count of healthcare workers who received a dozen. The release does not provide nationwide dates, eligibility criteria, or redemption instructions for a healthcare-worker free-dozen promotion. Krispy Kreme’s 2021 release also discusses a separate vaccination campaign, whose terms should not be confused with the 2020 giveaways.
What the separate $1 offer required
An American College of Physicians COVID-response resource lists a Krispy Kreme offer for May 18–September 7: healthcare workers could get one dozen Original Glazed doughnuts for $1 when buying any full-price dozen and showing ID. The listing does not state the year in that offer row, and it does not establish that the offer was national. Its terms describe a discounted dozen with a purchase, not a free dozen. Can healthcare workers redeem a free dozen now?
The Krispy Kreme U.S. offers result reviewed surfaced limited-time deals but did not show the historical healthcare-worker promotion. That alone does not prove no current offer exists, so check directly with Krispy Kreme or the participating shop before making a trip. Which ID should you bring?
The ACP listing says to show ID but does not specify which kinds of identification qualify or define eligible healthcare roles. The available sources therefore do not establish whether a work badge, license, or other proof would be accepted for that historical deal, and they do not establish documentation requirements for a current free-dozen offer. Ask the specific shop what it accepts before relying on the old listing.
