Costco’s U.S. Xbox Series X|S online category currently shows no matching results. That does not prove every local warehouse is out of stock, but a September 2025 report by Windows Central relayed a Costco customer-service response saying the retailer had no plans to carry Xbox consoles. The change concerns Costco’s assortment—not whether Microsoft still makes Xbox consoles.
What Costco’s U.S. listings show
As of October 8, 2026, Costco’s U.S. Xbox Series X & S category says it could not find a match. Costco also notes that some items may be available in warehouses even when they are not listed online.
A separate Costco comparison page still retains a record for “Xbox Series X 1TB Console with Additional Controller.” That record is not confirmation of current availability or a current price; the zero-dollar value displayed there should not be treated as an offer.
What was reported about Costco’s decision
On September 25, 2025, Windows Central reported that Costco had been removing Xbox console hardware. The report attributed this response to a customer-service call: “We don’t have any plans going forward to carry an Xbox console.” Windows Central characterized the response as a business decision.

Can you still find an Xbox at a local Costco?
The online category does not provide a warehouse-by-warehouse inventory check. Costco says local inventory can differ from what appears online and recommends checking directly with the warehouse. Its availability guidance, published March 2, 2026, lists these options:

- Check the Costco app.
- Visit the warehouse membership counter.
- Call the local warehouse.
- Contact Costco customer-service chat.
Have the item number or a clear product description ready. These checks can establish local availability more directly than a retained product record or an online category page.
Is Xbox discontinued?
No. Costco’s U.S. assortment is separate from Microsoft’s product lineup: Microsoft’s official Xbox consoles page lists Series X|S. Xbox Wire also announced U.S. console price changes on June 25, 2026, effective August 1, 2026. The announcement said prices would rise by US$100 for 512 GB models and US$150 for 1 TB models, and that the 2 TB model would be sunset. Those Microsoft announcements establish product-line and pricing information, not Costco’s reason for changing its assortment.

Costco’s Xbox listings differ by country
The U.S. result should not be generalized to every Costco market. Costco Canada’s Xbox Series X|S category and a Canadian Xbox Series X bundle page are live listings. A listing still does not guarantee stock at a particular location, and country-specific assortments can differ.

This information does not verify current stock at other U.S. retailers. Before paying, compare the exact console model and storage, whether the item is new or refurbished, what a bundle includes, and the final cost after delivery or any membership requirement. Check the seller’s current availability and the applicable return and warranty terms; these can vary by seller and listing.
