The company figures are from Avenue Supermarts’ October 3, 2026 update. PTI, carried by Business Standard, reported the latest year-on-year growth rate as 18.4%.
Why did DMart revenue rise 18.4%?
The update establishes the increase, but it does not explain what drove it. It provides no breakdown of the quarter’s growth by store openings, customer volumes, prices, product categories, or comparable-store sales. It also does not report Q2 FY2026-27 profit, EBITDA, or margins. The revenue change alone cannot show whether profitability or sales at existing stores rose at the same rate.

How many DMart stores were counted?
Avenue Supermarts reported 518 stores as of September 30, 2026. That total includes its Sanpada, Navi Mumbai, store, which was closed to customers for reconstruction. The figure is therefore a reported store count, not a count of locations open to customers on that date. The update gives the period-end total, not the number of stores newly opened during the quarter.

The business update gives two operating figures: standalone revenue from operations and the period-end store count. It does not provide enough information to assess quarterly earnings, margins, same-store performance, or the reasons for revenue growth. Investors looking to judge those measures will need the company’s fuller quarterly financial results rather than infer them from this announcement.
