Since October 8, 2026, construction businesses that are WIREBASE customers can be offered Digital Garage’s DGFT Invoice Card Payment service. It lets a business pay a supplier’s invoice by credit card even when that supplier does not accept cards. The supplier still receives what is effectively a bank transfer, so the payer gets card-based timing without asking the supplier to change how it gets paid.
The announcement, published by Digital Garage on October 8, 2026, is a company release. It describes the launch as a partnership between the two companies. It does not describe a finished software integration, and it does not say the service is open to every construction firm.
What was announced, and who can use it
Digital Garage and WIREBASE, a construction-industry AI and digital solutions provider that also operates the Myakuraku business platform, are jointly offering the service to construction-business customers of WIREBASE. The official English release from October 8, 2026 names that group as the initial audience.
Three limits matter for a reader deciding whether this applies to them:
#1 Best Overall
- Get your money as soon as the next business day.
- Get set up quickly with no long-term commitments. Download the Square Point of Sale app for free, create an account, and start taking payments anywhere.
- Run your business all in one place with the free Square Point of Sale app. Track your sales, manage inventory, accept tips, send receipts digitally, and more.
- Works with Apple devices with a Lightning connector.
- Audience: the offer is aimed at WIREBASE’s customers, not at construction firms in general.
- Platform: the release does not say the service has been built into Myakuraku. Treat the two as separate products until the companies state otherwise.
- Availability: the release does not describe a general public launch, and it does not publish fees, transaction limits or eligibility rules for this rollout.
Why construction firms are the target
The companies’ rationale centres on timing. Construction firms often pay for materials and subcontractors before they collect payment for completed work. Digital Garage says rising material and labour costs add pressure on margins, and it points to the requirements for timely and proper subcontractor payment that follow the entry into force of Japan’s SME Transactions Act. These are the companies’ own explanations. The release does not quantify them, and it does not explain how the payment service itself satisfies any legal obligation.
How the payment flow works
The service is an online B2B invoice-payment product. Digital Garage’s September 16, 2025 Japanese service announcement describes the mechanics, which are the most detailed description available. Those mechanics, as described there, run in this order:
Rank #2
- Use the, easy-to-use, and customizable POS to get started.
- Accept contactless payments, chip cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay from anywhere, with improved connectivity, extended battery life, and enhanced security. Pay one low rate for every tap or dip.
- No long-term commitments or contracts, no monthly fees- and with offline payments, keep taking payments for up to 24 hours.
- Safely and securely accepts payments anywhere. Plus, get data security, 24/7 fraud prevention, and payment-dispute management at no extra cost.
- Use the, easy-to-use, and customizable POS to get started.
- The business receives an invoice from a supplier that is set up for bank transfer, and it chooses card payment in place of a transfer.
- The supplier receives a bank transfer made in the payer’s name. The supplier’s own payment method and invoice terms do not change.
- The card charge reaches the payer later. Digital Garage says the payer can effectively defer payment by up to about 60 days. That figure comes from the 2025 material, not from the October 2026 WIREBASE release, so confirm the current limit before relying on it.
Digital Garage presents the benefits as extended effective payment timing, cash-flow support, operational efficiency and better visibility of payment data. The extension is a timing effect for the payer. It is not a change to the supplier’s invoice due date, and it does not renegotiate the supplier’s terms.
Supported card brands
The October 2026 release lists six brands: JCB, Visa, Mastercard, Diners Club, SAISON Card and NICOS Card. Digital Garage describes the offering as the service with the most supported brands in Japan and as the only Japanese service that supports Diners Club. Both comparisons come from Digital Garage’s own web survey as of October 8, 2026. They are company claims, not independent market measurements.

Market figures, and why they do not line up
Digital Garage uses several market figures in its background material. They describe different things, and they should not be combined. The table below shows each one with its source and its limits.
| Figure | Source as cited by Digital Garage | Date of the Digital Garage material | What it measures, as far as stated | Status for readers |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| About ¥1,400 trillion | 2024 Business-to-Business Settlement White Paper | June 4, 2025 (release) | Size of the B2B payment market, as Digital Garage frames it | An estimate relayed by Digital Garage. The white paper itself was not checked here. |
| 38.9% of B2B payments; 22.2% of invoicing | A survey cited in the same June 2025 background material | June 4, 2025 (release) | Credit-card use share. The denominator and survey method are not explained. | Check the original 2024 white paper before quoting these percentages. |
| About 5% of B2B payment methods | Visa Worldwide Japan white paper, published August 28, 2025, as cited by Digital Garage | September 16, 2025 (Japanese release) | Card share of B2B payment methods, under definitions that may differ from the 38.9% figure | Attributed to Visa in the 2025 release. The Visa paper itself was not reviewed. |
The gap between 38.9% and about 5% is most likely a definitional difference, but the sources do not establish that. Until the underlying definitions are checked, use neither figure as proof of how much demand the WIREBASE rollout will reach.
Rank #4

What Digital Garage says comes next
Digital Garage says it will deepen its work with WIREBASE and look at further solutions for construction-business challenges. It names cashless payment and back-office efficiency as areas to consider. These are plans, not launched services.
Digital Garage’s earlier material describes a broader aim of using payment and transaction data for cash management and efficiency. It mentions possible links to SaaS products, business applications, and partnerships with banks, card companies, trading companies and software providers. That is category-level context. It does not name any partner or commitment. Further company announcements are listed on the Digital Garage Investor Relations news listing.

How to evaluate the service before using it
Because the public terms for the WIREBASE rollout are not yet published, a business considering the service should ask the provider or WIREBASE directly about:
- Fees charged to the payer, and whether any fee applies to the supplier.
- The transaction limit and the maximum deferral period in effect at the time of payment.
- Whether your own card issuer’s brand is among the six listed.
- How card payments are recorded in invoicing and accounting software you already use.
- Whether the supplier must agree to receive the transfer through this route, and how payment confirmations are handled.
On the company’s own description, the service makes sense for a construction firm that pays subcontractors and material suppliers before its own receivables arrive. Whether it reduces that gap in practice depends on terms that have not yet been published.
The company’s wording
The English release puts the goal this way: “By providing this service, they will broaden the payment options available to construction businesses and support improvements in cash flow.” This is corporate release language. No named executive is quoted in the announcement. WIREBASE’s CEO is identified in the English release as Shinji Nakamura.
The Bottom Line
Digital Garage and WIREBASE have opened DGFT Invoice Card Payment to WIREBASE’s construction customers, and that is the concrete change. Whether it becomes a widely available tool depends on the fees, limits and eligibility terms that the announcement does not yet disclose.
