1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesJust before the Nintendo Switch 2 launched on June 5, 2025, a Reddit user shared a photo of signs reportedly sent to a store from Nintendo. The signs were described as reversible, with “in stock” on one side and “out of stock” on the other. The account is evidence of a reported example—not confirmation of a nationwide shipment or Nintendo-wide policy.
What the reported signs showed
In a June 3, 2025 report, TechSpot described a Reddit post from a user who said they worked on the warehouse side and that the signs came directly from Nintendo. The posted image reportedly showed a sign with “in stock” on one side and “out of stock” on the other. TechSpot’s report is the contemporary account of the image and the poster’s claim.

The account does not establish how many signs were shipped, which retailers received them, or whether Nintendo distributed them broadly. It also does not amount to an official public statement from Nintendo confirming the shipment.
Why stores might use a reversible sign
TechSpot connected the signs to the likelihood that customers would ask whether the new console was available. A reversible sign could let a store quickly indicate its current stock status. That is a plausible explanation for the sign’s practical use, but the available account does not attribute that rationale to Nintendo.

Launch demand figures were not store inventory results
TechSpot reported two figures that help explain the attention around the launch, but neither verifies how many signs were sent or how much stock any store had:
- 2.2 million applications: Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa said that many people applied for the My Nintendo preorder lottery in Japan. This was an application count for that Japanese lottery, not a count of fulfilled orders or global demand.
- 15 million consoles: Nintendo’s reported launch-year sales forecast. This was a forecast, not a final sales result.
What can be concluded
A Reddit user reportedly shared a photo of reversible stock-status signs and said they came from Nintendo. The contemporary report supports describing that as a reported example; it does not establish a confirmed nationwide program. The Switch 2 launched on June 5, 2025.
