Those remarks support the idea that BKFC was more lucrative for him going forward, but they do not prove that he has already received more from BKFC than he earned across his UFC career.
What Perry said about his BKFC contract and a UFC return
In September 2023, Perry told The MMA Hour, as reported by MMA Fighting, “I have to say they put about $8 million on contract.” Perry also said of a possible UFC return, “The pay cut would have been too massive.” MMA Fighting reported Perry’s comments on the deal and UFC pay cut.
The roughly $8 million figure is Perry’s description of the value placed on a new multi-fight contract. It is not a verified contract document, a disclosed payment, or evidence that the full amount has been earned. His pay-cut remark explains why he considered a UFC return financially unattractive; it is not an independently calculated comparison of his UFC and BKFC career totals.
What Perry’s disclosed BKFC purse shows
For the April 2024 KnuckleMania 4 main event against Thiago Alves, Perry was listed with a $600,000 purse in a California State Athletic Commission salary report, according to MMA Fighting. Alves was listed at $200,000. The $600,000 is a disclosed purse for one event, not Perry’s total BKFC earnings. MMA Fighting’s report on KnuckleMania 4 salaries notes that sponsorship income, discretionary bonuses, and other income were not publicly disclosed.

Why the public numbers do not settle the career-total question
The available figures measure different things, so they cannot be added or compared as if they were equivalent:
| Figure | What it represents | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| About $8 million | Perry’s reported statement about the value placed on a new BKFC multi-fight contract in 2023. | How much was ultimately paid, when it was paid, or whether the full contract value was earned. |
| $600,000 | Perry’s commission-reported purse for the April 2024 KnuckleMania 4 main event. | His compensation from other BKFC appearances or his complete BKFC earnings. |
| $744,000 | Tapology’s secondary profile field for “Career Disclosed Earnings,” as displayed in 2026. | An audited all-in career total or a separate UFC-versus-BKFC breakdown. |
Tapology’s Mike Perry profile labels the $744,000 as career disclosed earnings. That label does not make it a complete accounting: disclosed figures can omit income, and the profile does not provide a verified total for each promotion. It therefore cannot resolve whether Perry’s realized BKFC earnings have surpassed his UFC payouts.

So, did Perry earn more in BKFC than in the UFC?
The evidence supports a narrower conclusion: Perry publicly characterized BKFC’s new multi-fight offer as about $8 million and said a UFC return would require a financially unacceptable pay cut. A commission-reported $600,000 purse also shows a substantial disclosed payment for one BKFC event. But the public figures cited here do not provide a complete, audited comparison of his total UFC compensation with all money he has received from BKFC. The headline’s “eclipse” framing is best understood as a claim about the financial promise of his BKFC deal, not a proven career-total accounting.
