Warhorse Studios creative director Daniel Vávra said Kingdom Come: Deliverance II had recovered its development costs from sales within about 24 hours of release. Embracer Group separately reported that the game sold more than one million copies in that first day. That supports a claim of development-cost recovery—not a verified figure for net profit.
What did Warhorse say about the game’s first-day earnings?
In a February 6, 2025 interview with Czech outlet SZ Byznys, Warhorse creative director Daniel Vávra said, “dosavadní prodeje už zaplatily vývoj celé hry,” translated from Czech as “sales so far had already paid for the development of the entire game.” The outlet’s headline likewise said the game had earned back its cost on the first day. The wording is important: Vávra described sales covering the game’s development, not a published accounting statement showing a specific net-profit amount. The interview and official reports cited here do not define whether that calculation includes marketing, platform fees, taxes, publisher costs, or other expenses. So “paid for development” is supported; a precise day-one profit margin is not.
How many copies did Kingdom Come: Deliverance II sell in 24 hours?
Embracer Group reported more than one million copies sold in the first 24 hours after launch. Its February 13, 2025 interim report also said the game was approaching two million copies sold and had exceeded 250,000 peak concurrent players on Steam. It means Vávra said sales had covered development costs. In everyday language, that can sound like “turned a profit,” but the available statements do not establish how much money remained after all costs and deductions. Sales totals alone cannot settle that accounting question: the cited sources do not give the full cost base, platform and distribution deductions, or a final net-profit figure.
