There is no verified current Hainan Airlines offer for two “like-new” Airbus A350s in the available records. The closest confirmed Hainan sale plan was cancelled in 2020; later reports describe separate aircraft transactions, including two former Hainan A350s sold and leased to Fiji Airways in 2023. None verifies a like-new condition claim or a current asking price.
What Hainan’s 2020 disclosure actually says
On May 27, 2020, Hainan Airlines Holding Company disclosed that its wholly owned subsidiary, Hainan Airlines (2016) Company Limited, would cancel a prior proposal to sell two self-owned A350-900s to Haihang Aviation (Hongkong) Holding Company Limited. The filing cited COVID-19’s effect on aviation and the buyer’s adjustment to its operating strategy. The transaction was a cancelled proposal, not evidence of a completed sale or a current listing. The filing associated RMB 2,159,410,000 with the proposed two-aircraft transaction. That is a historical figure in a cancelled plan; it is not a current asking price, a confirmed sale value, or a verified valuation of aircraft now offered for sale.
What happened to former Hainan A350s afterward?
AerCap and Iberia reporting in March 2023
On March 16, 2023, Airfinance Journal reported that AerCap had found a new lessee for two 2018-vintage A350-900s previously operated by Hainan and expected to redeliver them to Iberia. The report said the aircraft had been grounded since February 2020. It does not, in the available information, establish that they were the same aircraft involved in the later Fiji Airways transaction. Airfinance Journal, March 16, 2023.

EMP, GOAL and Fiji Airways reporting in September 2023
On September 8, 2023, Aviation News Online reported that EMP Aviation Trading had completed the sale of two former Hainan A350-941s, manufacturer serial numbers (MSNs) 251 and 260. The report says the aircraft underwent return-to-service work and further maintenance after storage. Lessor special-purpose vehicles managed by GOAL handled the transfer, and the aircraft were placed on operating lease to Fiji Airways. These are reported completed transaction and lease-placement details, not evidence that Hainan currently has two aircraft for sale. Aviation News Online, September 8, 2023.
The two 2023 accounts should be kept distinct: the sources do not establish whether AerCap’s aircraft for Iberia were MSN 251 and 260. Aircraft identity should be matched by serial number or registration, not inferred from a shared former operator.

Establishing an aircraft’s present condition would require aircraft-specific evidence, such as technical records, maintenance status and inspection findings; none is provided in these reports.

No current Hainan sale offer or asking price is established by the sources above. A broker page found in the available material advertises three purportedly new 2025 A350-900s, but does not identify them as Hainan aircraft. For a reader assessing a future listing, the useful checks are the aircraft’s registration and MSN, who owns and is marketing it, whether the transaction is a sale or a lease placement, and what the records establish about maintenance and condition. Those details distinguish an actual offer from older plans or reports about aircraft that have already moved to other operators.
