Tom Hardy’s Havoc topped Netflix’s English film chart in a separate report. The rankings explain the “beating out” headline, but the figures do not establish which film had the larger audience over a comparable period.
What Netflix’s charts actually show
Netflix reported Exterritorial at No. 1 on its global non-English film chart for the week of April 28–May 4, 2025. The service counted 38.3 million views and 69.6 million hours viewed for that week. Those are Netflix’s weekly chart figures, not a lifetime view total or an independently measured audience count.
Netflix’s May 6, 2025 recap placed Havoc, Tom Hardy’s action thriller, at No. 1 on the English film chart. It reported 26.5 million views for the week and 56.3 million views across the film’s first 10 days. The latter is a cumulative figure for a different time window, not another weekly result.

Did Exterritorial beat Havoc?
Only in the limited sense that Exterritorial led its own language-category chart while Havoc led the English-language chart. Netflix did not rank the two films against one another in a single, shared list in these reports. Their headline figures also measure different periods: one is a weekly result, while the other includes a 10-day cumulative total.

That means the numbers cannot establish a like-for-like winner. A chart position shows how a title ranked within its category and reporting period; it is not, by itself, proof that its total audience exceeded another film’s.

Is Exterritorial bilingual?
Netflix identifies German as the film’s original audio and classifies it as a German action/adventure movie. English is listed as an available audio option, but that does not establish that the film itself is bilingual. The distinction is between the original-language production and the viewing audio options.
