SITCPLA representatives said on 13 March 2025 that easyJet had offered pilots in Spain a 4.5% pay rise for 2025, followed by consumer-price-index (CPI) increases plus 0.75% in 2026 and 2027. The union said it rejected the proposal. That account describes an earlier negotiating offer, not the final documented Spanish pay deal: a later agreement with SEPLA set different terms. A separate easyJet France strike threat in September 2026 concerned rosters and working conditions, not that Spanish pay dispute.
What did the reported pay offer include?
In a statement dated 13 March 2025, representatives of SITCPLA said easyJet had proposed a 4.5% increase for 2025, then increases of CPI plus 0.75% in both 2026 and 2027. SITCPLA said it strongly rejected the proposal. Those figures are the union’s account of the offer; the available sources do not include an easyJet response confirming those specific terms. SITCPLA’s statement
The proposal concerned easyJet pilots in Spain and negotiations over an updated collective agreement. It should not be read as a general pay offer to easyJet pilots in every country.
What became the final documented Spanish agreement?
Spain’s Official State Gazette later published a third collective agreement between easyJet and SEPLA for pilots in Spain. It covers 1 March 2025 through 29 February 2028. The registered agreement sets out terms that differ from SITCPLA’s earlier account of the proposal:
#1 Best Overall
- Detailed exterior with authentic livery and markings
- Display Stand Included
- Snap-Fit Model, Requires Assembly
- Officially licensed product
- Does not contain landing gear
| Effective date | Published salary provision |
|---|---|
| 1 March 2025 | 13.5% increase over the previous base salary |
| March 2026 | 6% increase plus the agreement’s specified annual CPI measure |
| March 2027 | CPI adjustment |
These are the terms in the agreement published by the BOE in 2026, rather than the earlier offer reported by SITCPLA. The agreement is with SEPLA; the sources do not explain how SITCPLA’s separate role in the earlier negotiations related to the final agreement. Spain’s Official State Gazette agreement
Is a strike looming?
The September 2026 strike threat was a separate dispute involving easyJet pilots in France. SNPL’s notice concerned roster instability and working conditions—not the Spanish 2025 pay proposal. IFALPA reported planned action for 13–14 September; on 11 September it reported that the action had been postponed for seven days as talks resumed. IFALPA’s notices and update

Industrial action can create operational risk, but the available sources do not show that these particular notices caused cancellations or establish what disruption any traveler experienced. easyJet’s February 2026 offering circular says, “There can be no assurance that easyJet will not experience strikes or other industrial action.” This is a general risk disclosure, not a prediction about either dispute. easyJet’s February 2026 offering circular

If considering travel insurance, check the policy wording and exclusions: the sources here do not establish that a policy would cover disruption related to a known strike.
