Did Apple lower Apple Card Savings APY this week?
The claim that Apple and Goldman Sachs lowered the rate during the week of October 5, 2026 is not substantiated by the available dated information. A September 23 report from 9to5Mac says the APY increased from 3.40% to 3.50% that day. That report describes an earlier increase, not a rate cut this week.

How Apple Card Savings works
Apple Card Savings is a deposit account provided by Goldman Sachs Bank USA, Salt Lake City Branch, Member FDIC, and accessed through Apple Card and Wallet. Eligible Apple Card Owners and Co-Owners may apply, subject to eligibility requirements. Customers can elect to have Daily Cash deposited automatically into Savings and can also add money from a linked bank account, according to Apple.

Apple launched the account in April 2023 with a 4.15% APY, and later reported that Savings deposits had exceeded $10 billion in August 2023. Both figures are historical; neither establishes today’s yield. APY can change, and comparisons require a rate date as well as current account terms.
