Yes. Airbus Defence and Space completed its acquisition of German cybersecurity company INFODAS on 5 September 2024, after receiving the required regulatory approvals. INFODAS became an Airbus subsidiary and said it would retain its branding and business operations.
What happened in the Airbus–INFODAS deal?
Airbus announced an agreement to acquire INFODAS on 25 March 2024. At the time, the company said the transaction remained subject to customary regulatory approvals and was expected to close before the end of that year. Airbus confirmed completion on 5 September 2024, making INFODAS a subsidiary of Airbus.
INFODAS said it would continue operating with its existing branding and business operations as a subsidiary. The public announcements cited here do not state the purchase price or describe post-acquisition integration milestones.
What does INFODAS do?
Cologne-based INFODAS provides cybersecurity and IT solutions to public-sector customers, including defence organizations and operators of critical infrastructure. Its work includes protecting information flows between networks or security domains with different access requirements.

Airbus said in its March 2024 announcement that INFODAS had around 250 employees and annual revenues of about €50 million. These were approximate company figures reported at the time, not the acquisition price or current financial results.
Why did Airbus acquire INFODAS?
Airbus said the acquisition would strengthen its cybersecurity portfolio for European and global customers. It linked that goal to rising cyber threats and the increasing digitalization and connectivity of defence and aerospace products and systems, including the Future Combat Air System (FCAS). That is Airbus’s stated rationale for the purchase.

What are INFODAS’s security approvals?
Airbus said the INFODAS SDoT Security Gateway family was approved for classification levels up to secret, and that its products were certified under Common Criteria, with additional country-specific certificates. INFODAS’s March 2024 announcement specified approvals up to Germany’s GEHEIM, EU SECRET, and NATO SECRET.
