The Better Business Bureau’s Dermaclear complaints page displays individual consumer submissions naming Derma Clear. The reports include dissatisfaction with results, an allegation of a rash after use, and concerns about billing or refunds. Read the BBB complaints.
These submissions are anecdotal. They are not a representative survey, independently verified medical records, or proof that the product caused a reported reaction. They cannot establish how often a problem occurs or what most customers experience.
Does Derma Clear work, and what is known about its ingredients?
The available evidence does not establish that Derma Clear is effective, nor does it establish its current ingredient list, label, manufacturer, or product-specific clinical evidence. It also does not verify a current Amazon listing. Do not assume Derma Clear has the same formula as another skin-tag product.

The FDA’s general warning is relevant to this product category, but it is not a product-specific finding about Derma Clear. The FDA states: “The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) product to treat moles, skin tags, or other skin growths.” Its warning-letter announcement concerns companies other than Derma Clear. What injuries have been reported with topical removers?
A 2023 peer-reviewed study identified 38 cases associated with unapproved, non-device topical mole and skin-tag removers: 30 found in Amazon consumer reviews and eight reported to the FDA. Reported injuries included burns, pain, and ulceration; some cases involved permanent scarring or disfigurement. The authors’ case collection included FDA reports through October 30, 2021, and Amazon reviews examined from 2019 through 2021. Read the 2023 study.
Those 38 cases are not an incidence rate or an estimate of risk for Derma Clear. The study authors noted underreporting, limited clinical detail, possible review bias, and difficulty reproducing searches of changing Amazon listings. The study does not establish that Derma Clear caused any of the reported injuries.

Is it safe to remove a skin tag at home?
The FDA advises having a skin growth evaluated by a healthcare professional because some growths may be cancerous. It says only a specially trained healthcare professional can tell whether a growth may be cancerous. An undiagnosed spot should not be treated as a skin tag based only on appearance or removed with a topical product.
For context, a 2020 FDA warning letter involved Oneness Labs products labeled as containing bloodroot and zinc chloride; it was not about Derma Clear. A separate 2014 FTC settlement concerned marketers of DermaTend, a different product. The FTC described challenged claims about DIY mole, skin-tag, and wart removal and a lack of scientific evidence.
