The Airbus A330-900neo was the aircraft Delta and the Port of Seattle named for that launch. The “commences” in the title refers to that 2024 start, not a 2026 launch. Everything below is the launch record; flight times, aircraft and cabins for a specific trip need to be confirmed with Delta for your travel date.
When the Seattle–Taipei route started
The Port of Seattle reported on December 7, 2023 that Delta would start daily Taipei service on June 6, 2024, and identified the A330-900neo as the aircraft (Port of Seattle, December 7, 2023). Delta’s own route announcement followed, dated December 11, 2023, describing daily, year-round service and the four cabin products covered below (Delta Air Lines, December 11, 2023). On June 6, 2024, the Port of Seattle confirmed the first nonstop U.S.–Taipei flight on Delta and published launch-day operating times (Port of Seattle, June 6, 2024).

The Port of Seattle published these times for the launch day. They describe June 2024 operations only.

Delta described the service as daily and year-round at announcement. The launch times are useful for understanding how the overnight outbound and the same-day return were originally built, but Delta sets timetables by travel date, so a current booking shows the times that actually apply.

Aircraft: the A330-900neo launch assignment
Both Delta and the Port of Seattle identified the Airbus A330-900neo for the route (Port of Seattle, June 6, 2024; Delta, December 11, 2023). That is the launch configuration. It does not establish which aircraft operates a given flight on a given day, so do not assume the A330-900neo for any future departure.
Cabins on the launch configuration
Delta’s announcement listed four cabins for the route. The descriptions below are Delta’s own product claims, not independent reviews or passenger testing.

Connecting beyond Taipei
At announcement, Delta said customers could connect onward through its joint venture with Korean Air, with access to 80 destinations in Asia via Korean Air’s Incheon hub (Delta, December 11, 2023). That was the network proposition at launch. Onward connections are not nonstop, and whether a specific connection is available depends on the itinerary you book.

Competitive context: EVA Airways in December 2023
When Delta announced the route, the Port of Seattle reported that EVA Airways was operating ten SEA–TPE flights per week (Port of Seattle, December 7, 2023). The same release described Delta’s service as the airport’s fourth nonstop Asia-Pacific destination, after Seoul, Shanghai and Tokyo-Haneda. Those are December 2023 figures; they are not a current frequency comparison.

Checking current service before you book
Schedules, aircraft and cabin layouts change, and none of the launch sources confirm what is operating today. Before you plan around this route, check:
- The flight number (DL68 or DL69) and departure date in Delta’s booking tools, and whether the flight is nonstop on your itinerary.
- The departure and arrival times shown for your exact date, rather than the June 2024 launch times.
- The aircraft type for that flight, if seat selection or cabin type matters to you.
- Fare rules for the cabin you would actually fly, including change and refund conditions.
The launch materials do not state fares, so any cost comparison has to be built from Delta’s fare listings for your dates. For a budget comparison, price the same travel dates across the nonstop and any connecting options, using the cabin you would really book. The gap between cabins is usually the largest cost driver, so compare Delta One against Premium Select or Comfort+ on the same flight before deciding.
