It listed silver at ₹235 per gram, or ₹2,35,000 per kilogram, and described the rates as unchanged. These are dated publisher-reported prices, not a live quote or a single official Delhi retail tariff.
Delhi gold and silver rates reported for 8 October
The following figures are from Goodreturns’ 8 October 2026 Delhi rate report. The source characterized its listed prices as unchanged.

These numbers answer searches such as “24 Karat gold rate today in Delhi,” but “today” is relative to the report date: the figures above are for 8 October 2026, not 11 October 2026.
Why other sources show different prices
Delhi rate pages do not show one uncontested figure for 8 October. NDTV’s Delhi history entry for that date lists gold at ₹14,957 per gram for 24K, ₹13,714 for 22K and ₹11,224 for 18K, each slightly below Goodreturns’ figures. The available reports do not establish the precise reason for the difference, so treat them as source and rate-series variation rather than interchangeable quotes.

A separate comparison of IBJA indicative rates published by The Economic Times reports that benchmark prices fell between 7 and 8 October: fine gold 999 by ₹31 per gram, 22K by ₹30, 20K by ₹27, 18K by ₹24, 14K by ₹20, and silver 999 by ₹2,821 per kilogram. The comparison’s 8 October levels were ₹14,746 per gram for fine gold 999, ₹14,392 for 22K, ₹13,124 for 20K, ₹11,945 for 18K, ₹9,511 for 14K, and ₹2,18,045 per kilogram for silver 999. This benchmark series declined over that date interval; it does not support treating Goodreturns’ “unchanged” description as a universal market finding.
How to use a rate when estimating a jewellery bill
A quoted metal rate is not necessarily the amount you will pay for jewellery. IBJA says its indicative retail jewellery rates are per gram and exclude 3% GST and making charges. A seller’s final quote can also reflect the item’s design or other premiums. Confirm the terms on the actual offer before comparing it with a published rate.

For a useful comparison, match the details that determine what the number means:
- Date and time: use quotes from the same date and, where available, comparable update times.
- Location and rate type: distinguish a Delhi retail quote from an all-India benchmark.
- Purity: compare the same karat or fineness, such as 22K with 22K rather than with fine gold 999.
- Unit: check whether the rate is per gram or per kilogram.
- Included costs: identify whether GST, making charges and design premiums are included.
- For a jewellery offer: check stated purity and weight as well as making charges, GST and any design premium.
What “flat” means in this report
Goodreturns called its 8 October Delhi rates unchanged. That wording applies to the publisher’s reported series; it does not mean every benchmark or price source recorded no movement. The separate IBJA comparison reported declines from 7 October, while NDTV’s city-history figures for the same date differed from Goodreturns’. When sharing or using a rate, name its source and date.

Goodreturns also quoted Prithviraj Kothari, Managing Director of RiddiSiddhi Bullions Ltd. and President of IBJA: “The RBI’s 25 bps hike to 5.50%, its first since February 2023, is mildly negative for gold in India.” This is his attributed comment in the article, not an explanation established here for the differences among rate publishers.
