Its account describes the situation at the time of its 2025 report; it does not establish the club’s position today. The same report said Hillsborough’s North Stand had closed following a Sheffield City Council Prohibition Notice. These are reported financial and stadium developments, not findings that Chansiri committed wrongdoing.

What did Chansiri say about selling or seeking investment?
In the Sky Sports report, Chansiri said he was willing to sell if a deal was right “on all fronts,” not just on price. He also said: “I have been seriously engaging in looking for investment from new parties, and continue to do so to quickly remedy this situation.” Those remarks record his stated position at that time; they do not confirm that a sale or investment agreement was completed.

The report also described differences between accounts of offers or bids from prospective buyers and Chansiri. The figures were not independently verified transaction values in the material available here, so they should not be treated as agreed prices or completed deals.
Who called the situation “disgraceful”?
Sky Sports attributed the words “It really is disgraceful” to Sheffield South East MP Clive Betts, in his criticism of the club’s condition. That is Betts’s political judgment. It should not be recast as a verified quotation from Chansiri or as a formal finding by a regulator or court.

The title wording that Chansiri was “questioned” for a “disgraceful” investment action is not substantiated by the available reports: they do not establish a formal inquiry or identify an originating report verifying that exact framing.
What did Clive Betts say in Parliament?
In a House of Commons debate on football governance on 8 November 2023, Betts said Chansiri had put a lot of money into Sheffield Wednesday but had recently said he might stop funding it. Betts called that possibility “a considerable threat” and argued that fans should be consulted on issues affecting clubs. The statement is recorded in Hansard’s Commons debate record.

Betts’s comments reflect a politician’s concern about the club and fan involvement; they are not proof that funding was stopped or a finding about the legality of Chansiri’s decisions.
