That was a roadmap announcement: DeGate said a whitelist beta would begin on November 20, 2024, with wider mainnet access to follow. Its current product is described as a self-custody multichain wallet with cross-chain swaps—not the order-book DEX it operated previously.
What DeGate announced in 2024
DeGate’s November 2024 announcement presented “intent trading” as a way to state the trade a user wants—such as spending Ethereum-based USDC to buy a Solana token—without personally carrying out each bridge and swap step. The company said Solana would be the initial destination and described a whitelist beta beginning November 20, 2024, followed by broader mainnet access. Those dates describe the plan announced at the time, not proof that the feature first launched then or that every planned stage occurred on schedule. Read DeGate’s announcement.
How the cross-chain swap is described
In the launch-era explanation, the user specifies the desired asset purchase and signs transactions; a solver carries out the target-chain purchase and sends the purchased token to a direct address associated with the user’s wallet. DeGate said users would not need a separate wallet or gas token for each destination chain. The current FAQ and documentation describe a similar high-level experience: choose a token, and DeGate’s routing and solvers handle bridging, gas, and execution in the background. The company says users can swap across chains without manually bridging or completing a sequence of approvals. These are DeGate’s descriptions of its flow, not a guarantee that every token or route is available, instant, or free of execution failures. DeGate FAQ · DeGate documentation.
Intent and solver, in plain language
- Intent: the outcome the user wants, such as acquiring a particular token on another network.
- Solver: the service participant that finds or executes a route to deliver that outcome, according to DeGate’s product explanation.
- Routing and settlement: the steps needed to move value and complete the destination-chain trade. DeGate says these steps are handled behind the scenes rather than requiring the user to manually bridge first.
A DeGate-hosted guest post published in March 2025 discusses intents, solvers, and deterministic direct addresses in more detail. It identifies itself as a guest author’s perspective, so it should be treated as background rather than a definitive specification of the current implementation or an independent security review. What DeGate is today—and what changed
DeGate’s FAQ, updated August 25, 2026, describes the current service as a self-custody wallet with multichain swaps. It also says the company’s earlier Ethereum zkRollup order-book DEX was sunset in June 2025. That distinction matters: older descriptions of DeGate as an operating exchange or rollup do not match the product status stated in the current FAQ.
In that FAQ, DeGate lists support for 17 blockchains and 10M+ tokens. The named networks are Ethereum, Solana, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, BNB Smart Chain, Avalanche, Aptos, Bitcoin, Linea, Sonic, Worldchain, xLayer, HyperEVM, Monad, and MegaETH (testnet). These are DeGate’s own time-sensitive product figures, not independently verified counts; the FAQ specifically marks MegaETH as a testnet.

Fees and the cost of a trade
As of its August 2026 FAQ, DeGate states that stablecoin swaps have a 0% fee and other-token swaps have a 0.02% fee, with the exact quote displayed before confirmation. That is the stated platform fee, not necessarily the total cost of a trade: market price, route liquidity, slippage, and network execution can also affect what the user receives or pays. Review the quote shown for the specific route before signing.

In its 2024 announcement, DeGate wrote: “All transactions are signed by the user before execution.” This is the company’s statement about the announced flow; it should not be read as independent verification or a universal description of every current transaction path.

DeGate’s August 2026 FAQ says the Solana LP Handler smart contract was audited by Adevar Labs on March 20, 2026. The same FAQ limits that audit to the named contract and says other wallet components had not yet received external third-party audits at that time. A review of one contract is therefore not evidence that the entire wallet has been audited. Users considering a self-custody wallet should understand which component an audit covers and independently assess the risks of signing transactions and holding assets on supported networks.
DeGate’s App Store listing says an app update added support for the OneKey hardware wallet. This indicates a stated compatibility addition, not an endorsement or a requirement to use DeGate; the available information does not specify a compatible model. DeGate App Store listing.

What to check before using a cross-chain intent swap
- Confirm that the source and destination networks and the exact token are supported for the route you want.
- Review the quoted output, fees, and any displayed slippage or execution details before signing.
- Check the destination address and make sure you understand what happens if the route cannot complete as expected.
- Do not treat “self-custody” or a contract-specific audit as a guarantee against loss; DeGate’s stated audit coverage is limited.
