Deel announced a $300 million Series E financing on October 16, 2025, at a stated $17.3 billion valuation. Ribbit Capital joined as a new investor, alongside Andreessen Horowitz, Coatue Management, General Catalyst and Green Bay Ventures. The valuation is a private-round figure—not a public share price or a guarantee that shareholders can sell at that amount.

How much did Deel raise, and who invested?

Deel said it raised $300 million in new Series E financing. The company named Ribbit Capital as a new investor and listed Andreessen Horowitz, Coatue Management, General Catalyst and Green Bay Ventures as participants. TechCrunch reported that Ribbit Capital and Andreessen Horowitz co-led the round, with Coatue and General Catalyst participating as existing investors.

Deel’s announcement described the financing as a $300 million Series E valuing the company at $17.3 billion. Deel’s announcement and contemporaneous reports from TechCrunch and Crunchbase News reported the round size and valuation on October 16, 2025.

What does Deel’s $17.3 billion valuation mean?

It is the valuation associated with a private-company financing transaction. It is not a stock-market quote: Deel is private, and the figure does not establish a price at which all shares could be sold, how much any individual shareholder could receive, or what the company would be worth in a future sale or public offering. The number reflects the terms and context of this financing, not an independent appraisal of every share.

The distinction matters because the $300 million is new financing for Deel, while the $17.3 billion is the valuation attached to the round. Neither figure means that the company received $17.3 billion in cash.

How does this compare with Deel’s earlier 2025 valuation?

Earlier in 2025, Deel was associated with a $12.6 billion valuation in a secondary share sale. Globes reported that valuation, while Sacra describes the earlier event as a February 2025 secondary transaction involving shares sold by early investors.

Transaction Timing Reported valuation What the transaction involved
Earlier secondary share sale February 2025, according to Sacra $12.6 billion, reported by Globes Existing shares sold by early investors; this is distinct from new company funding.
Series E October 16, 2025 $17.3 billion $300 million in new financing announced by Deel.

The higher Series E valuation is a later transaction reference, not proof that every shareholder could immediately realize the same increase. Secondary sales and primary fundraising differ: in a secondary sale, proceeds generally go to selling shareholders; in a primary financing, new capital goes to the company.

Is Deel profitable?

Deel said on October 16, 2025, that it had exceeded $1 billion in annual recurring revenue (ARR), completed three consecutive years of profitability and recorded a $100 million revenue month in September. These are company-reported operating figures; the cited announcement and contemporaneous coverage do not establish them as independently audited results. ARR is a recurring-revenue measure, not the same thing as cash, profit or a guarantee of future performance.

What does Deel plan to do with the funding?

Deel said the Series E would support infrastructure expansion and further development of AI-powered payroll and HR products. That is the company’s stated intended use of the capital; the announcement does not by itself demonstrate what products will result or how they will perform.
