Decagon announced a $250 million Series D on January 27, 2026, led by Coatue Management and Index Ventures. The company said the financing tripled its valuation to $4.5 billion in less than six months; Bloomberg reported that the valuation includes the new money. The deal is a major private-company financing, not a publicly traded investment opportunity.
What Decagon announced
The January 27, 2026, Series D raised $250 million. Coatue Management and Index Ventures led the round. Decagon also named new participants ChemistryVC, Definition Capital and Starwood Capital. Existing backers joining the financing included a16z, A*, Accel, Avra, Bain Capital Ventures, Elad Gil, Forerunner, Ribbit Capital and T.Capital. Decagon’s announcement lists the investors and describes the financing as tripling the company’s valuation in under six months.
Bloomberg reported the resulting $4.5 billion valuation includes the money raised, making it a post-money figure in that report. The sources do not provide a prior valuation amount or enough detail to calculate the percentage increase independently; the claim that it tripled is Decagon’s characterization. Bloomberg’s January 28 coverage also describes Decagon’s AI agents handling tasks such as order tracking, returns and travel bookings.
What Decagon does—and what its growth claim means
Decagon sells AI customer-support software to businesses, positioning its product as an “AI concierge” for customer interactions. Its funding post named Avis Budget Group, Block and Deutsche Telekom as customer examples. The company said more than 100 new global enterprise customers joined in the preceding fiscal year. That is a company-reported customer count, not an audited figure in the cited sources; it does not establish revenue, customer retention or profitability.

Coatue General Partner Lucas Swisher said, “Decagon is helping redefine how businesses engage with their customers.” That is an investor’s view, rather than an independent assessment of the product or its results. Decagon directs prospective business customers to request a demo.
Why the $4.5 billion figure needs context
A private-company valuation is not the same as a public market price: Decagon’s shares do not have a daily quoted price available to ordinary investors. The $4.5 billion figure is a reported valuation associated with this financing, and Bloomberg says it includes the new capital. Decagon’s reviewed announcement does not disclose revenue, so these sources do not support calculating a valuation-to-revenue multiple or drawing conclusions about how much the business earns.

The round is also distinct from the employee liquidity event Decagon announced later. On March 4, 2026, co-founder and CEO Jesse Zhang said the company had its first employee tender offer, described as a pro-rata continuation of the Series D and led by Series D investors. A tender offer allows eligible employees to sell shares under the offer’s terms; it is not another $250 million primary funding round. The announcement does not create a direct way for most individuals to buy Decagon shares. It reports a private financing involving institutional and other named investors, not a public stock offering. Any access to private-company shares would depend on eligibility and the terms of a separate transaction; the cited announcements do not offer shares to retail investors.
