Daymond John has publicly identified Bombas as his most successful Shark Tank investment. That makes Bombas the clearest answer to which of his televised investments stands out—but it does not establish his personal profit, ownership stake, or return multiple. His other defining business success, FUBU, is a company he co-founded, not a comparable Shark Tank investment.
Bombas is the investment John calls his most successful
John’s official website says he named Bombas his most successful investment during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. ABC’s October 28, 2025 program page likewise describes Bombas as his “wildly successful investment in Bombas socks.” In a 2021 interview with MJBizDaily, John called Bombas the most successful company in Shark Tank history.
These are John’s public descriptions of the company’s success, not audited disclosures of what he personally earned. The cited accounts do not state his current ownership, realized proceeds, or return multiple, so they cannot support a precise ranking of his investments by investor profit.
Why John says he invested in Bombas
A founder-first decision
John said he liked Bombas’s entrepreneurs, their values, and their business model. He has described his broader approach this way: “I look for problem solvers,” and “I look for people who are creative and scrappy and honest.” In an interview reproduced on his official site, he put the emphasis on the people behind a company: “I always look for the person first—before the idea.”
#1 Best Overall
- Play as your favorite TV Shark
- Earn bonus points for winning products that suit your shark's specialty!
- Comes with coasters of your favorite sharks!
His explanation of the Bombas investment was direct: “I invested in Bombas because I liked the entrepreneurs. I liked their core values. And I liked their business model.” Those comments identify the qualities that attracted him; they do not disclose the deal’s financial terms.
A product tied to a social mission
Bombas sells socks and built a donation commitment into its business model. John described it in 2021: “For every pair of socks they sold, they gave one pair away to the homeless.” The mission was part of the company’s appeal to him, alongside its direct-to-consumer approach.

- AS SEEN ON SHARK TANK: Receiving offers from 4 Sharks, Pricetitution asks one simple question: "How much money would it take you to ___________? It explores your fears, funny ideas, and philosophical arguments, plus you can easily play it over video (Zoom, Google, etc.)!!
- LOADS OF CONTENT: Includes 130 Price Tag cards, guessing notepad, 6 mini-pencils, and simple instructions in an easy to carry handheld box. Many cards were specifically written so you can play them again and again even with the same group! Consistently one of the top card games for adults, perfect as a dinner party game, or just a fun gift!
- FLEXIBLE GAME TIME & AGES: Play for 30 minutes or 3 hours with 3 or more adults (The game was initially made for ages 15+ but you can remove about 15 cards to play with anyone!). Go ahead and modify the details of the cards based on your friends. This is why it’s consistently one of the best adult games for groups and is sure to be a conversation starter!
- A PERFECT PARTY GAME & GIFT: Watch grown adults banter back and forth on what it would cost them to get a tattoo of the last thing they ate. You'll see why we hit #1 on Kickstarter out of 300,000 projects. Not only one of the best adult games for parties, but also a great holiday gift, Christmas gift, and top rated drinking card game 🙂
- GET TO KNOW ANYONE BETTER: For friends or strangers, you'll accidentally get to know each other way too well. Get your night going with one of the best card games based on the conversations you already have! And be honest, you’ve done worse for 20ish bucks.
John also cautioned against treating money as the sole measure of a business decision: “My best investments and business moves were done for reasons other than money.” That helps explain his stated motivation, but it does not change the distinction between a company’s commercial success and an investor’s personal return.
FUBU was a major business success, but a different kind
FUBU is the apparel business John co-founded and the foundation of his entrepreneurial career. MJBizDaily reported in 2021 that FUBU had reached $6 billion in global sales. That figure is sales—not profit, company valuation, or the amount John personally earned—and it should not be compared directly with Bombas as though both numbers measured investment returns.

Bombas is the standout John identifies from his Shark Tank investments; FUBU is a separate success from his own business career. Keeping those categories distinct makes the comparison more useful than calling both figures evidence of the same kind of return.

A third-party profile covering Shark Tank seasons 1–17, with profile facts reviewed August 23, 2026, records 126 on-air deals and $22.7 million in attributed on-air commitments for John. The publisher, Shark Tank Companies, warns that televised deals do not show whether every agreement closed after due diligence, and that company status does not establish investment performance.

- Suspenseful twist on the classic Operation game featuring JAWS.
- Remove 12 custom “funatomy” pieces: chum bucket, shark tooth, harpoon, binoculars, barrel, beach float, beach closed sign, help shark!, dog collar, oxygen tank, and spear dart.
- Includes Boat and Bigger Boat cards that add exciting challenges.
- Light-up JAWS mouth activates when mistakes are made.
- Perfect for JAWS fans, family game night, and collectors.
The $22.7 million is an attributed on-air commitment figure, not proof of cash invested, total portfolio exposure, or returns. A deal announced on television may change or fail to close, and a company’s later success does not by itself reveal how much an individual investor made.
Can anyone rank John’s investments by actual profit?
Not from these public figures. A reliable profit ranking would require comparable, attributable information such as John’s investment amount, ownership over time, follow-on contributions, proceeds from any sale, and any remaining stake’s value. The cited sources do not provide a full set of those figures for Bombas or his other private investments.
So the defensible answer depends on what “most profitable” means: Bombas is the investment John has publicly called his most successful, while the available information does not establish that it delivered his highest verified personal return. No audited public ranking of his realized investment returns is established by these sources.
