Available records do not establish that David Kosoy or Sterling Global committed a scam. The matter identified by that phrase is a Florida defamation complaint over public claims about a proposed sale of Sky Beach Resort & Spa in Eleuthera, The Bahamas. The complaint sets out the plaintiffs’ allegations, not a court’s findings; the current case status has not been verified.
What the Florida case is about
A complaint filed on January 28, 2026, in Florida’s Fifteenth Judicial Circuit for Palm Beach County names Sterling Global Financial, Ltd. and David Kosoy as plaintiffs and Craig Shawn Williamson as defendant. The plaintiffs allege that Williamson made defamatory statements concerning a potential sale of Sky Beach Resort & Spa. The complaint is a pleading by one side, not proof that its allegations are true. Complaint filing preview

What the complaint alleges about the proposed sale
According to the complaint, Sky Beach Resort & Spa, Ltd. entered into a preliminary agreement in September 2023 with Williamson through 8ght LLC and/or ResClub Resorts. The plaintiffs say the preliminary agreement set conditions that had to be met before the parties could enter into a purchase-and-sale agreement. The complaint characterizes Sterling’s financing obligation as a $7 million take-back mortgage. That figure is an alleged contract term—not evidence that Sterling paid $7 million, that money was lost, or that a court verified the agreement. Complaint filing preview

The complaint says the transaction did not proceed because 8ght LLC failed to satisfy required conditions. That is the plaintiffs’ account of why negotiations did not result in a purchase-and-sale agreement; the available materials do not include the underlying agreement or an independent finding on whether the conditions were met. What Sterling has said publicly
Eye Witness News reported Sterling’s position that 8ght LLC failed to meet the contract terms and that Williamson’s claims of ownership of the resort were false. The outlet quoted Sterling as saying, “Despite failing to meet the terms of an agreed-upon contract, 8ght LLC has continued to falsely present itself as the owner and developer of the Sky Beach Resort & Spa property.” This is Sterling’s allegation, not a court ruling or an independently established conclusion. The publicly described dispute therefore involves competing claims about a proposed transaction and statements made about it. The available sources do not establish that anyone committed fraud, misused funds, or defrauded investors.

Until the docket and any later court orders are checked, the responsible distinction is straightforward: the complaint records what Sterling Global Financial and Kosoy allege; it does not show that a judge or jury found those allegations—or any allegation of a scam—to be true.

How to assess claims about the dispute
- Identify the source: a complaint describes one side’s allegations; a company statement describes that company’s position.
- Look for the underlying record: the agreement itself and any response pleadings or court orders could clarify what terms were disputed and how the case progressed.
- Check the official docket: use Palm Beach County eCaseView for current filings rather than relying on a filing preview or an older news report.
