No official public purse split was confirmed in the Nevada commission documents reviewed. Salary Sport lists $5 million for David Benavidez for the bout, but it does not establish that figure as an official or guaranteed purse. No reliable figure for David Morrell was established, so the fighters’ actual disclosed purses remain unconfirmed in the available materials.

Why isn’t there a confirmed public purse split?
The reviewed Nevada commission agenda concerns selecting officials and setting event fees. The commission’s official result document records the bout outcome, not fighter purses. Those documents therefore do not confirm either fighter’s public purse. Their silence does not rule out private guarantees, bonuses, or other contingent compensation.
Does the $5 million listing mean Benavidez took home $5 million?
No. Salary Sport’s listing is not enough to establish an official guaranteed purse, the fighters’ total compensation, or their net pay after taxes and expenses. Bonuses and other contingent terms were also not established. Treat $5 million as a secondary database listing for Benavidez, not as confirmed take-home pay or a complete earnings total.
What happened in the fight?
The bout took place on February 1, 2025, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, as part of a pay-per-view event on Prime Video described by Premier Boxing Champions. The Nevada result records Benavidez winning by unanimous decision. PBC reported that he retained the interim WBC light-heavyweight title and won Morrell’s WBA light-heavyweight title. The result and titles provide context for the bout, but do not establish either fighter’s compensation.
