Databricks’ $100 billion-plus valuation and $4 billion revenue run-rate were figures from September 2025, not its latest reported numbers. In August 2026, the company said it had closed a separate $5 billion strategic round at a $190 billion valuation and had exceeded a $7 billion revenue run-rate. Both sets of figures are company-reported; a revenue run-rate is not the same as audited revenue for a completed year.

What Databricks announced in September 2025

On September 8, 2025, Databricks announced that it was closing a $1 billion Series K at a valuation above $100 billion. The company said it had reached a $4 billion revenue run-rate during Q2 2025, with year-over-year growth above 50%. It also reported that its AI products had exceeded a $1 billion revenue run-rate and that it had been free-cash-flow positive over the preceding 12 months. These are figures and claims from the company’s announcement, not audited financial statements. Databricks’ September 8, 2025 announcement

The round was co-led by Andreessen Horowitz, Insight Partners, MGX, Thrive Capital, and WCM Investment Management. The valuation was the one associated with a private financing; it was not a public share price or a stock-market capitalization.

How the reported figures have changed

Date Funding or valuation news Company-reported business pace
September 8, 2025 $1 billion Series K at a valuation above $100 billion $4 billion revenue run-rate during Q2 2025; growth above 50% year over year
February 9, 2026 Databricks described investment activity at a $134 billion valuation $5.4 billion revenue run-rate; growth above 65% year over year in Q4
July 16, 2026 Strategic-round term sheet at a $188 billion valuation Not stated in the cited announcement
August 13, 2026 $5 billion strategic round closed at a $190 billion valuation More than $7 billion revenue run-rate; growth above 80% year over year during Q2; Lakebase above a $100 million run-rate

These dated figures come from Databricks’ announcements. The July item was a term sheet, not a closed round; the company announced the closing in August. August 13, 2026 closing announcement February 9, 2026 announcement July 16, 2026 term-sheet announcement

What a $4 billion revenue run-rate does—and does not—mean

A revenue run-rate annualizes revenue from a particular period to indicate the pace at which a business is operating. Databricks said it reached the $4 billion pace during Q2 2025. That does not establish that it recognized $4 billion in revenue over a completed fiscal year, nor does it disclose audited annual revenue. The company’s later reported $5.4 billion and more-than-$7-billion run-rates likewise describe reported business pace at different points, not necessarily completed-year revenue.

What a private valuation means for readers

A private-round valuation is a financing benchmark negotiated in a transaction involving investors and the company. It is not a price at which every share could necessarily be sold, and it does not mean Databricks has a publicly traded stock price. It should not be treated as directly interchangeable with a public company’s market capitalization: the measures can reflect different dates, capital structures, and transaction terms.

For personal-finance purposes, the headline is therefore not an investment return or a readily available stock valuation. The cited announcements do not establish that the company’s reported figures were independently audited, and they do not provide a consistent basis for comparing Databricks with public peers.
