Cyprus’s financial regulator warned investors about Worldwide CapitalFX after identifying worldwidecapitalfx.com as a website that did not belong to an entity authorised to provide investment services in Cyprus. The warning also said the domain was using the name and licence number of a different Cyprus investment firm without authorisation.
That is a serious regulatory warning, but it is important to describe it accurately. CySEC did not state in the notice that Worldwide CapitalFX had been convicted of fraud, that customer withdrawals had failed, or that it had imposed a fine. The warning concerned the website’s lack of authorisation and the alleged misuse of another firm’s identity and licence information.
What CySEC said about Worldwide CapitalFX
On February 11, 2019, the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) published a warning concerning several websites, including worldwidecapitalfx.com.
CySEC’s warning said the listed websites “do not belong to an entity which has been granted an authorization” to provide investment services or perform investment activities under Article 5 of Cyprus Law 87(I)/2017.

The notice named these four domains:
lite-options.comwww.jetfore.comworldwidecapitalfx.combogo-finance.com
CySEC further stated that the websites were using the name and licence number of Bogofinance Capital Markets Ltd, a Cyprus Investment Firm with licence number 321/17, “illegally and without authorization.”
The regulator’s original warning can be checked in the CySEC notice.
Worldwide CapitalFX remains on CySEC’s non-approved-domain list
CySEC also maintains a separate List Of Non Approved Domains. The list defines these domains as websites that are not owned or operated by Cyprus Investment Firms authorised by CySEC to provide investment services.
worldwidecapitalfx.com appears on that list with a date listed of January 31, 2019. The page was last updated on June 12, 2026, according to the regulator’s website.
Rank #2
That January date should not be confused with the date of the separate warning. The domain record shows January 31, 2019, while the CySEC warning document was published on February 11, 2019. They are two separate official records.
What the warning means for investors
If a broker is not authorised for the investment services it offers, an investor may not receive the protections normally associated with a regulated Cyprus Investment Firm. Depending on the service and the applicable rules, those protections can include regulatory oversight, conduct requirements, complaints procedures and access to specific investor-compensation arrangements.
A website displaying a legitimate firm’s name or licence number does not prove that the website is operated by that firm. The relevant question is whether the exact domain, legal entity and contact details match the regulator’s official records.
For Worldwide CapitalFX, CySEC’s warning indicates that the website was not associated with an authorised entity under the cited Cyprus law and that the site allegedly used Bogofinance Capital Markets Ltd’s identity and licence details without permission. Investors should therefore treat any request to open an account, deposit money or provide identity documents through that domain as high risk.
How to check a broker before depositing
- Start with the regulator, not the broker’s website. For a Cyprus-based claim, go to cysec.gov.cy and use Regulated Entities → Investment Firms.
- Search the exact legal entity. A brand name is not enough. Check the company name, licence number, approved services, website address and contact information shown in the regulator’s record.
- Compare the domain character by character. Differences involving a hyphen, extra word, different top-level domain or alternate spelling can indicate that a website is not the authorised firm’s site.
- Check warnings and non-approved domains. On CySEC’s website, the relevant paths are Investor Protection → Warnings → CySEC Warnings and Investor Protection → List Of Non Approved Domains.
- Do not rely on a licence number alone. Fraudulent or unauthorised websites may copy a genuine firm’s name and licence number. The licence must correspond to the entity and domain you are actually dealing with.
- Pause when payment instructions change. Requests to send funds to a personal account, cryptocurrency wallet, unrelated company or account in another country are warning signs. So are demands for extra “tax,” “release,” or “verification” payments before a withdrawal.
What CySEC did not establish
The February 2019 notice should not be stretched beyond its wording. It does not establish that:
- Worldwide CapitalFX was incorporated in the United States;
- the domain was owned or operated by Algobit Ltd;
- the business was registered in Seychelles;
- customers were defrauded or lost money;
- withdrawals were refused;
- the website is currently operating or permanently closed; or
- CySEC made a criminal-fraud finding.
Those claims may appear in broker-review or affiliate material, but they are not findings stated in the CySEC warning. Confirming them would require separate primary-source evidence, such as a corporate registry record, court document or another regulator’s official notice.
Is Worldwide CapitalFX “blacklisted” by CySEC?
“Blacklisted” is common shorthand in online broker reviews, but it is not CySEC’s official terminology here. The regulator calls the record its List Of Non Approved Domains.
The practical message is still clear: CySEC does not identify worldwidecapitalfx.com as a domain owned or operated by a Cyprus Investment Firm authorised to provide investment services. Investors should not interpret the existence of a copied licence number as evidence of regulation.

What to do if you already sent money
If you transferred money to Worldwide CapitalFX or supplied personal documents, act quickly:
- Stop sending additional funds, including payments described as taxes, fees or withdrawal charges.
- Contact your bank, card issuer or payment provider using its official number and ask whether the transaction can be recalled, disputed or blocked.
- Save account statements, emails, chat messages, wallet addresses, transaction IDs, phone numbers and screenshots of the website.
- Change passwords if you reused them elsewhere, and enable multi-factor authentication.
- Report the matter to your local financial regulator and law-enforcement agency. If identity documents were provided, ask the relevant authority or credit-reporting service about identity-theft precautions.
- Be cautious of recovery agents who promise to retrieve the money for an upfront payment. Unauthorised brokers’ former customers are often targeted by a second round of payment demands.
FAQ
Did CySEC declare Worldwide CapitalFX a scam?
No. The CySEC notice warned that worldwidecapitalfx.com did not belong to an entity authorised under Article 5 of Cyprus Law 87(I)/2017 and said the site used Bogofinance Capital Markets Ltd’s name and licence number without authorisation. It did not describe a fraud conviction or make a criminal-fraud finding.
When did CySEC warn about Worldwide CapitalFX?
The separate CySEC warning was published on February 11, 2019. The regulator’s non-approved-domain list shows January 31, 2019 beside worldwidecapitalfx.com; that is a separate domain-list date, not the publication date of the warning.
Is Worldwide CapitalFX regulated by CySEC?
CySEC’s records do not identify worldwidecapitalfx.com as a domain owned or operated by a Cyprus Investment Firm authorised to provide investment services. The domain remains on CySEC’s List Of Non Approved Domains according to the regulator’s June 12, 2026 update.

Was Bogofinance Capital Markets Ltd the same company as Worldwide CapitalFX?
CySEC said the websites named in its warning were using Bogofinance Capital Markets Ltd’s name and licence number 321/17 without authorisation. The warning does not establish that Worldwide CapitalFX was the same legal entity as Bogofinance Capital Markets Ltd.
Can I recover money sent to Worldwide CapitalFX?
Recovery is not guaranteed, but contact your bank, card issuer or payment provider immediately and ask about a recall or dispute. Preserve all evidence and report the matter to your local regulator and law-enforcement agency. Do not pay an upfront fee to an unverified recovery service.
The Bottom Line
CySEC’s warning is enough to treat Worldwide CapitalFX and worldwidecapitalfx.com as unauthorised for Cyprus investment services. The regulator also alleged unauthorised use of Bogofinance Capital Markets Ltd’s name and licence number 321/17. That is a strong reason not to deposit funds or submit identity documents through the domain. It is not, however, the same as a CySEC finding that the operation committed criminal fraud. Investors should rely on the regulator’s exact wording, verify any broker through official records and avoid sending further money if they have already made contact.
