That is a substantial one-year drop, but it is not a global total, and Tesla does not publish a Cybertruck-only delivery figure in the reporting cited here.
How many Cybertrucks did Tesla sell in 2025?
Kelley Blue Book/Cox Automotive estimated that Tesla sold 20,237 Cybertrucks in the United States in 2025, compared with 38,965 in 2024—a 48% year-over-year decline. CBS News reported the estimates on January 23, 2026. These are U.S. annual sales estimates, not Tesla-reported global deliveries.
| Measure | 2024 | 2025 | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Estimated U.S. Cybertruck sales | 38,965 | 20,237 | Kelley Blue Book/Cox Automotive estimates, reported by CBS News; 48% decline year over year. |
The comparison is useful because it holds both geography and measure constant. It does not tell us how many trucks Tesla delivered worldwide or how many went to individual retail buyers.
Why Tesla’s delivery reports do not give a Cybertruck total
Tesla groups the Cybertruck with other vehicles in its “Other Models” delivery category rather than reporting a separate Cybertruck line. That category is global and aggregated, so it cannot be read as a Cybertruck-only total. Tesla’s Q4 2025 delivery consensus page also distinguishes actual Q3 2025 figures from consensus estimates for later periods; its “all other models” row is not a model-level sales count.

For the third quarter of 2026, Tesla reported 8,295 global deliveries in “Other Models.” Electrek estimated that 7,000 to 8,000 were Cybertrucks, after subtracting deliveries it attributed to other vehicles. That range is an outside estimate, not a Tesla-reported figure; uncertainty includes the Semi, Cybercab and remaining Model S/X deliveries. See Electrek’s estimate alongside Tesla’s quarterly report.
Sales, deliveries and registrations are different measures
A registration count can help describe vehicles entering use, but it is not the same thing as a sale to an unaffiliated public customer. In the fourth quarter of 2025, S&P Global Mobility counted 7,071 U.S. Cybertruck registrations. The Los Angeles Times reported that 1,279 were registered to SpaceX and another 60 to other companies associated with Elon Musk. Those registrations are part of the total, not proof of outside retail demand. The figures and their attribution are discussed by the Los Angeles Times.

What the decline does—and does not—show
The U.S. annual estimates establish that Cybertruck sales dropped substantially between 2024 and 2025. They do not establish why. The figures alone cannot separate the effects of price, product appeal, production, availability, competition or broader changes in electric-vehicle demand. Those may be questions worth investigating, but the cited sources do not quantify them as causes.
For a grounded assessment, compare like with like: use the same U.S. sales-estimate series for annual changes, and label global quarterly delivery figures or U.S. registration counts separately. Mixing those measures can make the truck’s performance look more or less certain than the underlying data allows.
