SecurityWeek reported 41 cybersecurity mergers and acquisitions announced in June 2025, but its July 2 roundup names only 40 transactions: 11 highlighted deals and 29 additional items. The remaining transaction is not identified in the article, so the published total cannot be reconciled from its list.

What SecurityWeek reported—and what its list contains

In a roundup published July 2, 2025, SecurityWeek’s Eduard Kovacs said 41 cybersecurity M&A deals had been announced during June. Counting the entries in the article yields 40 named transactions: 11 highlighted deals plus 29 more. The article does not name a 41st transaction. SecurityWeek’s figure should therefore be understood as its reported tally, not a count independently reconciled by the itemized list. SecurityWeek’s June 2025 roundup

SecurityWeek also said it counted 405 cybersecurity-related M&A announcements in 2024. That is the publication’s own count, not a universal industry census. A later SecurityWeek report describes its general research inputs—including news distribution services, Google searches, PR-company pitches, and privately reported deals—and notes that transactions without English-language announcements may be missed. That methodology does not identify the unlisted June deal or establish precisely how the June tally was compiled. SecurityWeek’s February 2026 report

The 11 highlighted transactions

The roundup’s selected deals span security and privacy observability, email protection, digital investigations, cloud identities, networking, authentication, AI, and security operations. The descriptions below reflect the stated deal terms and rationale in SecurityWeek’s account; they are not independent evaluations of product performance.

How to read the announcements

“Acquired,” “agreed to acquire,” and “plans to acquire” are not interchangeable. SecurityWeek used different status language across the highlighted deals, and an announcement or agreement does not by itself establish that a transaction had closed. The roundup also reported values for only two highlighted deals: $200 million for Cellebrite–Corellium and “tens of millions of dollars” for Cyera–Otterize. For the other highlighted transactions, it did not state a value; that does not mean the deals had no value.

The list illustrates the range of capabilities companies were seeking to add, but the roundup does not establish whether the deals produced the stated strategic benefits. It is a record of reported announcements and rationales, not an outcome assessment.
