The company described temporary measures to keep critical functions operating and efforts to restore affected systems.

What InterLock claimed—and what is confirmed
In its April 1 follow-up, SecurityWeek reported that InterLock claimed responsibility for the incident and alleged that National Defense Corporation, a National Presto subsidiary, appeared on its leak site. The group also claimed that systems at multiple National Presto entities, including AMTEC, had been encrypted, and that it had obtained roughly 450,000 folders containing nearly 3 million files.
Those details should be treated as allegations, not established facts. National Presto’s cited SEC filing did not confirm ransomware, encryption, the alleged file volume, data theft, or the subsidiary-level scope. A leak-site listing or file-count claim alone does not show what data was actually accessed, whether it was sensitive or unique, or whether it was publicly released.

The available public statements cited here do not establish whether information was exfiltrated, whether personal or defense-related information was involved, whether customers, employees, suppliers, or government entities were affected, or whether legally required breach notifications were issued. They also do not establish whether a ransom was demanded or paid.
National Presto said affected activity was being restored, but the cited filing does not establish when all systems returned to normal or whether the forensic investigation was complete. The cited sources do not confirm a public release of data or resolve the attacker’s claims about negotiations and recovery.

Why the disruption could affect more than online services
SecurityWeek describes National Presto as operating in small household appliances, ordnance and ammunition, the Rusoh Eliminator self-service fire extinguisher, and systems that provide early warnings of conditions associated with significant losses. In a business with manufacturing and logistics, a cyber incident can disrupt physical operations as well as office technology: production scheduling, inventory, procurement, shipping, receiving, and customer-service processes may rely on enterprise systems.
The SEC filing described effects at the registrant but did not enumerate every affected subsidiary or business line. The later subsidiary details came from SecurityWeek’s account of InterLock’s claims, so they do not establish that every National Presto operation—or any particular defense contract—was affected.
