Walgreens has the lower displayed starting price, while its Photo page also says most locations offer same-day pickup, often in about an hour. CVS lists photo prints from $0.32. These are retailer-listed starting prices—not like-for-like quotes—and neither retailer’s official pages establish which produces better-quality prints. Compare the same size and quantity at checkout, then confirm the price and pickup details for your local store.

Which service is cheaper?
Walgreens displays the lower starting price: $0.29 versus CVS’s $0.32. That difference alone does not show which will cost less for your order. The listings do not establish that those starting prices apply to the same print size, quantity, or promotion, and CVS’s page includes rotating promotional language.
For a useful price comparison, add the same photos in the same size and quantity to each retailer’s cart. Compare the checkout totals, including any applicable promotion, and use the price shown for the exact order rather than treating the advertised starting price as a quote.
Which is better for same-day pickup?
Walgreens makes a specific timing claim: “Most Walgreens locations offer Same Day Pickup, often as little as one hour.” “Most” matters; the statement is not a guarantee for every store or order. Check whether your selected product can be picked up at your intended store and review the completion estimate before paying. Walgreens also describes custom-project pickup and same-day products on its pickup page, but eligibility can vary.

CVS lists pickup and delivery options, but the cited page does not establish a comparable pickup time. Confirm the available option and estimated timing for your order at checkout rather than assuming the two retailers have the same turnaround.
How to compare the total cost and convenience
- Choose the same print size and quantity. Walgreens lists several standard formats, including 4×6; choose the matching format at each retailer before comparing prices.
- Enter the same order at both sites. Use the official Walgreens prints page and CVS prints page. Check the current price and any promotion shown for that specific order.
- Check the intended store. Confirm that the product is eligible for pickup at your local location and note the completion estimate. If delivery is preferable, compare the delivery option shown for each order.
- Compare the final checkout amount and timing. Base your choice on the price and fulfillment details actually offered for your order, not just the page’s “from” price.
Can you tell which retailer has better print quality?
The retailer pages cited here do not provide a controlled comparison of color, sharpness, paper, or consistency, so they do not establish a quality winner. If image quality matters most, order a small, identical sample from each service and compare the prints under the same lighting. Look at skin tones and color balance, fine detail, cropping, and whether the results are consistent across multiple images.

What to do with your prints
Walgreens lists 4×6 prints, a common size for albums and display. If you want to keep a batch organized, a 4×6 photo album is an optional storage choice—not a requirement for either printing service. Walgreens describes its prints for album and display use on its prints page.
