The 136-centre figure refers to the countrywide arrangements. FPSC separately reported 23 exam halls at the Lahore Punjab Public Service Commission Examination Centre; that is a figure for the Lahore facility, not the total number of centres or halls nationwide. Read FPSC’s 10 February 2026 press release.
How did the schedule develop?
- 3 August 2025: FPSC’s advance public notice listed 4 February 2026 as the tentative written-exam date and said the Commission could change the schedule. View the advance notice.
- 7 December 2025: FPSC’s CE-2026 call for applications again gave 4 February 2026 as the tentative commencement date for the written part. It said the examination was governed by the CSS CE Rules, 2019. View the application notice.
- 17 December 2025: FPSC announced that, starting with CE-2026, only one compulsory paper would be held per day rather than the earlier arrangement of two papers in a day. FPSC said a detailed timetable would follow. View the compulsory-paper notice.
- 10 February 2026: FPSC reported the 4–15 February examination period and said the compulsory-paper start time had changed from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Read the press release.
What changed for compulsory papers?
Two operational details changed from the earlier arrangement: FPSC moved to one compulsory paper per day, and later reported a change in compulsory-paper start time from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The available cited notices establish the overall examination period and these changes, but do not provide the full subject-by-subject timetable here. Do not use the overall 4–15 February period to infer the date of an individual paper.

Where can candidates check official information?
For rules, notices, syllabus, results and other CSS information, use the FPSC official website. The FPSC online admission-certificate page is specifically for the CE-2026 written part: CSS 2026 Written Part Online Admission Certificate.
FPSC’s December application notice said only candidates who qualified in MPT CE-2026 could apply for the written part, and set out degree, age and cutoff-date criteria. Because eligibility and any applicable age relaxation depend on the rules and a candidate’s circumstances, consult the complete notice and CSS CE Rules, 2019 rather than relying on a shortened summary. For any candidate-specific or later-cycle question, check FPSC’s latest notice and the applicable online service.
