UEFA announced on 14 August 2024 that Crypto.com would sponsor the UEFA Champions League for the 2024–27 commercial cycle, making it the competition’s first cryptocurrency partner, according to UEFA. The agreement also names the UEFA Super Cup, UEFA Youth League and UEFA Futsal Champions League. UEFA did not publish a deal value or a precise final date.
What the 2024 agreement covers
UEFA’s announcement describes a three-year sponsorship covering the 2024–27 commercial cycle. It names four competitions:
- UEFA Champions League
- UEFA Super Cup
- UEFA Youth League
- UEFA Futsal Champions League
The first activation was planned for the 2024 UEFA Super Cup in Warsaw. The cycle label does not establish a specific final day in 2027, nor does the 2024 announcement establish that every right or activation would continue unchanged through the cycle. UEFA’s announcement is the source for the stated portfolio and cycle.
What sponsorship rights were publicly described?
UEFA said the partnership included perimeter LED advertising during matches, media interview backdrops, broadcast sponsorship, exclusive on-site activation opportunities at UEFA events and collaboration on fan experiences. These are the public-facing assets described in the announcement; it did not provide a full contract or enumerate every possible right.

How UEFA’s and Crypto.com’s partner descriptions differ
UEFA called Crypto.com the Champions League’s “first cryptocurrency partner.” Crypto.com described itself as the “first and exclusive global cryptocurrency platform partner.” The latter is the company’s wording, not a phrase to substitute for UEFA’s description of the deal. The company’s 14 August 2024 release also reported more than 100 million users; that is a company-published figure, not an independently verified count in the sources cited here. Crypto.com’s announcement contains its characterization.
Was the sponsorship fee disclosed?
No. UEFA’s release does not state the financial value or detailed contract terms. A separate promotional prize amount should not be mistaken for the sponsorship price: UEFA promotion rules accessed on 8 October 2026 describe a giveaway of CRO tokens worth a €10,000 equivalent under a stated conversion reference. The rules also warn that CRO’s price can fluctuate and that UEFA and Crypto.com do not guarantee future price, performance or liquidity. These are promotion terms, not the contract value. UEFA’s contests and promotion rules also describe prizes in other competitions; those prizes do not establish additional sponsorship rights.

How the later match-coin collectible fits in
On 29 May 2026, Crypto.com announced a separate collaboration with Fanatics Collectibles around the official physical match coin from the Champions League Final in Budapest. The planned collectible was a one-of-one Topps Now relic trading card embedding that coin. Crypto.com said a corresponding base card would be offered through Topps.com after the final, with one customer selected at random to receive the relic card. The company’s activation announcement also described tokenization of the coin and campaign utility for the 2026/27 season. Those are claims about that campaign, not a guarantee of collectible or token value. This announcement does not establish current retail availability or the terms of any resale.
