Crunchyroll’s new U.S. monthly prices are $9.99 for Fan, $13.99 for Mega Fan, and $17.99 for Ultimate Fan, up $2 per tier. The company announced the change on February 2, 2026: new subscriptions were charged the new rates from that date, while existing monthly subscribers were scheduled to pay them on their first billing date after March 4, 2026. Your actual renewal amount can differ because of billing location, taxes, billing provider, and any promotion on your account.
How much does Crunchyroll cost now?
The following are the monthly prices in Crunchyroll’s February 2, 2026 U.S. announcement. France is included as a documented international example; these figures are not a complete list of prices in every country.

Crunchyroll’s U.S. announcement and France announcement set out those rates and timing. The U.S. Fan increase is $2, or 25% of its former $7.99 monthly price. The same $2 increase is about 16.7% of the former Mega Fan price and 12.5% of the former Ultimate Fan price; those percentages are calculated from the announced prices.
When did the new price take effect?
Crunchyroll announced the U.S. change on February 2, 2026. New subscribers were subject to the new prices from the announcement date. Existing monthly subscribers were scheduled to see the increase on the next billing date after March 4, 2026, rather than all being charged on one common date. The French announcement gives the same renewal timing for the affected plans.

“Again” needs a tier-specific qualification: Crunchyroll called the 2026 Fan increase its first U.S. Fan-tier increase since 2019. It said the previous U.S. adjustments for Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan were in May 2024, so the 2019 history does not apply to every tier.
What does each plan include?
Crunchyroll describes ad-free viewing and library access across its paid tiers. Its U.S. comparison distinguishes plans by how many devices can stream at once and by added features:

Crunchyroll’s announcement and current U.S. Premium page describe the plan benefits. Download quality and store benefits can also vary by tier, and Crunchyroll cautions that benefits may depend on region. Check the comparison shown for your country rather than assuming every feature is available everywhere.
Which plan is worth paying for?
The useful comparison is your renewal price against features you actually use. Fan is the lowest-priced tier, with one simultaneous stream. Mega Fan costs $4 more per month than Fan at the announced U.S. rates and adds three simultaneous streams and Game Vault. Ultimate Fan costs another $4 per month over Mega Fan and adds manga access and the 12-month swag bag benefit. Those extras are only worth paying for if they fit how you watch or read.

- Choose based on how many people need to stream at the same time, not just the number of profiles.
- Check whether offline viewing is available at your local tier and whether download quality matters to you.
- Compare Game Vault or manga access with your actual use; the higher tiers’ included features do not make them automatically better value.
- Include applicable tax and any promotion when comparing the bill you will actually pay.
Are annual prices or taxes different?
Annual offers are time-limited and can change. Crunchyroll’s February 2 U.S. announcement advertised a limited Fan annual offer of $66.99 for one year, paid upfront and described as an effective $5.58 per month. A later snapshot of the official U.S. Premium page, crawled about two months before October 8, 2026, displayed a $69.99 first-year Fan offer for eligible users and a $99.99 Mega Fan offer. These are separate offer snapshots, not permanent annual rates. Confirm the live terms and eligibility in your account before committing.
Crunchyroll Help says advertised prices exclude sales tax where applicable; tax is determined by billing address and regional rules. The final amount can also be affected by the billing provider and promotional terms. See Crunchyroll’s tax explanation for details.

How to check your renewal and change plans
- Open your Crunchyroll account and check the membership plan and next billing date shown there. Use the renewal price displayed for your account rather than relying on an old offer or a price from another country.
- Account for applicable local taxes and check whether the subscription is billed by Crunchyroll or through an app store or another billing provider.
- Compare the features you use with the plan options available in your region.
- To change plans, follow Crunchyroll Help’s plan-change instructions. If you subscribed through an app store, confirm and manage the change through that billing channel where required.
What Crunchyroll says about the increase
Crunchyroll presented the 2026 adjustment as part of expanding its anime offerings. It pointed to additions and improvements such as teen profiles and PIN protection, multiple profiles, skip intro and credits, device compatibility, and Fan offline viewing. The announcement does not provide a cost breakdown or establish that any one of those features caused the price increase. The stated context is the company’s explanation, not an independently demonstrated explanation of the pricing decision.
