Crunchyroll announced on September 22, 2023, that Right Stuf’s storefront would transition to Crunchyroll Store beginning October 10, 2023. Right Stuf had been acquired by Crunchyroll in 2022; the change folded its anime retail operation into Crunchyroll’s store, rather than ending anime merchandise sales altogether.
What happened to Right Stuf Anime?

The company described the retailer as an online anime superstore and said the e-commerce expansion would serve fans and collectors with manga, home video, figures, games, music, and related products. On September 22, 2023, Crunchyroll announced that the Right Stuf storefront would transition to Crunchyroll Store starting October 10, 2023. So, “Right Stuf closed” is shorthand for the end of its separate storefront and its integration into Crunchyroll Store—not a claim that every product category or customer policy remained unchanged.
What happened to existing Right Stuf orders and preorders?
During the 2023 transition, Crunchyroll’s Right Stuf order FAQ said open orders and preorders would continue to be processed and fulfilled by Right Stuf. It also said the two stores would handle their own returns. That was transition guidance for orders at the time; it does not establish how a particular order is handled today. For an order that is still unresolved, check its confirmation and contact the support channel associated with the original purchase.

Can you still buy anime Blu-rays or manga from Crunchyroll?
Crunchyroll’s stated Right Stuf assortment included manga and home video, but the merged store’s catalog has changed over time. GamesRadar+ reported in August 2026 that the relaunched store lacked books and had a reduced selection of Blu-ray and DVD products. These are dated observations, not a guarantee about current listings, so search for the exact edition or volume before relying on a category page or an older announcement.
Does shopping at Crunchyroll Store require a membership?
GamesRadar+ reported in July 2026 that the planned August shopping experience would let Fan subscribers browse, while Mega and Ultimate members could make purchases. The report described a planned change; it is not a current official terms page. Check Crunchyroll Store’s displayed access and purchase terms before subscribing or placing an order, since membership rules can change.

How to choose a replacement retailer for a specific item
If an item is not listed at Crunchyroll Store, compare the purchase conditions that affect the total cost and whether the order will work for you:
- Exact item: Confirm the edition, volume, format, or collectible variant—not merely the general category.
- Shipping: Check whether the retailer ships to your location and review shipping charges and delivery estimates at checkout.
- Returns and preorders: Read the current policy for the specific retailer before paying, especially if the item is a preorder.
- Membership: Confirm whether browsing or purchasing requires a paid plan, and account for that cost if relevant.
The available reporting establishes the history of Right Stuf’s transition and later Crunchyroll Store changes, but does not verify another retailer’s current stock, shipping coverage, or policies.
