The Times of India reported that the complaint covered transactions totaling about Rs 10.52 lakh—rounded to Rs 11 lakh in its headline—and that police were investigating. The allegations are not a finding of guilt.
What the trader alleged
According to The Times of India’s October 5, 2026 report, the 30-year-old trader said he had known the operators for about a year. They allegedly offered to deposit outstanding balances on his family’s cards for a 3% commission, saying this would help protect his credit score. He reportedly handed over the cards.
The complaint, as summarized by the newspaper, alleged that money was credited to the cards and then withdrawn through online portals or a card-swiping machine. The newspaper reported the following sequence:
- December 26, 2025: Rs 1.96 lakh was credited to two of the trader’s cards and allegedly withdrawn through online portals. Rs 2.40 lakh was credited to his father’s card and allegedly withdrawn through similar portals.
- February 16, 2026: Two credits of Rs 99,000 each to the trader’s card were allegedly withdrawn.
- February 20, 2026: Rs 2.46 lakh was credited to his father’s card and allegedly withdrawn.
- May 27, 2026: Rs 71,286 was credited to his mother’s card and allegedly withdrawn through a card-swiping machine.
These amounts and steps are allegations described in the newspaper’s account of the complaint, not independently established transaction findings.

How the Rs 11 lakh headline relates to the reported total
The report puts the alleged transaction total at about Rs 10.52 lakh. Its headline rounds that figure to Rs 11 lakh. The figure describes the complaint’s alleged transactions; it is not an adjudicated loss or a court-established amount.
What happened after Andhra Pradesh Police contacted him
The Times of India reported that Andhra Pradesh Police visited the trader’s home on July 10 and told him that credits of Rs 2.40 lakh and Rs 1.96 lakh to two cards were linked to fraud cases. Police reportedly recovered Rs 4.37 lakh from him under a panchnama. The report does not establish the legal or eventual financial disposition of that recovery, so it should not be treated as a conviction, final loss, or final repayment.

What is known about the case status
The trader reportedly submitted bank statements and documents provided by Andhra Pradesh Police to Karanj police. The Times of India said Karanj police had registered his complaint and were investigating the alleged card misuse and transactions. Its report did not state that there had been an arrest, charge, court finding, refund, or final resolution.
