Craft Ventures led Starbridge’s $42 million Series A, announced by the company on October 21, 2025. Starbridge says it is building AI-assisted sales intelligence to help businesses find and pursue opportunities with government agencies and schools.
What the Starbridge funding announcement says
Starbridge founder and CEO Justin Wenig announced the $42 million Series A on October 21, 2025. The company said it would use the capital to accelerate product development, hiring, and expansion in government and education markets. Starbridge’s announcement describes the round and the company’s intended use of the funds.
TechCrunch reported that the round also included Zac Bookman, Michael Seibel, and existing investors Owl Ventures, Autotech Ventures, and Commonweal Ventures. TechCrunch reported that Starbridge had raised $52 million in total, including a $10 million seed round. GovTech also reported the $10 million seed figure alongside the Series A announcement.
What Starbridge’s software is designed to do
The product described in connection with the funding is sales intelligence for companies pursuing government and education business. Starbridge says its platform monitors public-sector information for signals such as bids, meeting discussions, contract expirations, grants, budgets, procurement rules, and contact details. The goal is to help sales teams identify potential needs and relevant officials before or as procurement opportunities emerge.

Starbridge’s example workflow starts with the natural-language query, “Show me cities struggling with street cleanliness.” The company says the software can then identify an official responsible for the issue, draft a personalized outreach message, and sync the work to a customer relationship management (CRM) system. This is a company-described workflow, not an independent assessment of how well the product performs.
Wenig wrote in the October 2025 announcement: “What once took hours of manual research by an account executive now happens in seconds.” That is Starbridge’s claim about time savings; the sources reporting the round do not independently test the comparison.

Funding and traction figures, with their context
| Figure | What it refers to | Attribution and date |
|---|---|---|
| $42 million | Series A | Announced by Starbridge on October 21, 2025 |
| $10 million | Seed round | Reported by GovTech in October 2025 |
| $52 million | Total raised, including the seed and Series A | Reported by TechCrunch on October 22, 2025 |
| More than 160 | Enterprise public-sector sales teams | Reported as a company figure by GovTech in October 2025 |
| More than 600 | Customers | Claimed by Starbridge for Q2 2026 on its About page, viewed October 8, 2026 |
The two traction figures use different measures and periods: the 2025 report refers to enterprise public-sector sales teams, while Starbridge’s Q2 2026 figure refers to customers. They should not be read as a like-for-like growth comparison.
How the announcement fits the market
TechCrunch placed Starbridge alongside GovWin and GovSpend, describing Starbridge’s approach as building AI workflows on top of datasets. That context identifies other companies in the space, but the available reporting does not establish a comprehensive feature comparison or show that one provider is better. A buyer evaluating these tools would need current, comparable information on data coverage and freshness, workflow automation, CRM integrations, usability, and pricing.
What the funding does—and does not—show
The announcement establishes that Craft Ventures led a $42 million financing round and that Starbridge plans to use the money to build, hire, and expand. It does not, by itself, demonstrate that the software produces better sales outcomes or that its time-saving claim has been independently verified. The reported funding and customer figures are useful snapshots, but they are attributed company or media reports rather than an independent product-performance study.
Starbridge’s broader company description also discusses tools for public leaders, including data and nonpartisan media and a purchasing platform. Those ambitions are distinct from the vendor-focused sales-intelligence product tied to this funding announcement.
