Amazon may be useful for a specific item from Amazon US, but the available official evidence for Amazon Global Store through 11st dates to its 2021 launch and does not establish whether the storefront or its terms are still current. Compare the exact item’s delivered price, delivery eligibility for your address, membership cost and return rules before choosing.
What the comparison covers
Coupang is more than an import storefront: its Korean Product Commerce business includes products sold by Coupang, third-party marketplace listings, Rocket Fresh groceries and related advertising. Coupang says revenue in this business comes primarily from online sales to Korean customers, merchant commissions and logistics and fulfillment fees, as well as its Korean WOW membership program. These details come from the company’s 2025 Form 10-K.
Amazon’s connection to everyday shopping in Korea is less firmly established by the available official information. Amazon and 11st announced the Amazon Global Store on 11st for South Korean customers on August 31, 2021, describing access to Amazon US selection. That announcement documents the launch, not the storefront’s 2026 availability, current delivery charges or current eligibility.
How they compare for routine shopping
| What matters | Coupang | Amazon through 11st |
|---|---|---|
| Local delivery | Coupang describes same-day, dawn and next-day Rocket Delivery. It says the service averages 12 hours; that is Coupang’s own claim, not an independent measurement. Eligibility depends on the product and address. Source | The 2021 launch announcement described international delivery from Amazon US through 11st. It does not establish current delivery options or timing. Source |
| Groceries | Rocket Fresh is Coupang’s fresh-grocery offering. Its July 2026 FAQ says an order must total at least ₩15,000 and delivery is limited to eligible areas. Source | The cited 2021 launch announcement does not establish an equivalent grocery service or current grocery eligibility. |
| Selection | Coupang describes Rocket Overseas, but that alone does not establish that all overseas products or terms match Amazon’s. Source | The launch announcement offered access to Amazon US selection through 11st. Check that the particular item is currently listed and deliverable to your address. Source |
| Returns | Coupang’s July 2026 FAQ describes 30-day free returns for eligible, unused Rocket Delivery items. The rule excludes Rocket Fresh and Rocket Overseas; it should not be assumed to apply to every purchase. Source | The cited launch announcement does not establish current return rules. Check the item’s present return terms before ordering. |
| Membership | WOW membership is part of Coupang’s Korean business. The July 2026 FAQ describes benefits and conditions, but the cited excerpt does not state the monthly fee. Check the current charge and terms before deciding whether membership pays off. Source | The 2021 announcement gives a historical delivery term for non-Universe Pass customers, not a current membership or shipping offer. Current terms are not established by that source. Source |
Compare the delivered cost, not the sticker price
There is no supported blanket verdict that either marketplace is cheaper. The available sources do not provide a matched live basket or an audited price comparison. For an item you actually plan to buy, compare the same product and quantity, then include shipping, any import-related charges shown at checkout, discounts and the cost of membership if you would subscribe for the order.

What Coupang’s scale figures do—and do not—show
For Q4 2025, Coupang reported 24.6 million Product Commerce active customers and more than 100 logistics centers across 30 or more regions in South Korea. These figures indicate the scale Coupang reported for its Korean commerce operation; they do not prove that a specific item is available, that a particular address receives a given delivery speed, or that Coupang will be cheaper. Decide whether WOW membership is worth its current charge
Base membership value on the benefits you would actually use and the current subscription price and conditions shown by Coupang. The July 2026 FAQ excerpt describes benefits but does not provide the monthly fee, so an older price should not be treated as current.

The cited material includes company statements and official service information, not an independent consumer survey, a matched-basket price study or a comparative delivery-time test. Coupang’s 12-hour Rocket Delivery average is the company’s claim. The evidence supports a practical distinction—Coupang for the better-documented local delivery and grocery option, Amazon through 11st as a possible route to Amazon US selection—not a universal claim about speed, price or current availability.
