Yes, SanDisk (NASDAQ: SNDK) could double over a 12-month period, but the evidence available as of October 7, 2026, does not make that the central expectation. Its latest reported growth and near-term outlook are exceptionally strong; however, a double from the October 6 closing price would require the stock to rise beyond the average 12-month analyst target, and the business faces substantial memory-cycle, pricing, and execution risks.
What would a 12-month double require?
SanDisk closed at $1,660 on October 6, 2026, according to the dated market snapshot. A 100% price gain from that reference point would put the shares at about $3,320, before dividends and assuming a comparable share and quote basis. This is a reference calculation, not a forecast.
Investing.com’s analyst aggregation retrieved October 7 listed an average 12-month target of $2,136.54 across 24 analysts, with a low of $1,000 and a high of $3,600. The average is well below the price needed to double, while the highest target is above it. Analyst targets are estimates, not guarantees or probabilities, and can change. The spread shows disagreement about the outlook; it does not indicate the odds of either outcome.

Recent examples in that aggregation included Mizuho’s $2,050 target on October 6, Citi’s $2,100 on October 1, and Rosenblatt’s $2,400 new-coverage target on September 22. These dated opinions are not independent guarantees of future prices.

How strong are SanDisk’s results and near-term outlook?
SanDisk reported fiscal 2026 revenue of $20.248 billion, up 175% year over year, and non-GAAP diluted earnings per share (EPS) of $70.88. In fiscal Q4, revenue was $8.965 billion, up 51% sequentially, and non-GAAP diluted EPS was $39.25. The company said approximately one-third of Q4’s sequential revenue growth came from higher volumes and two-thirds from higher pricing.
The company’s August 5, 2026 earnings release also gave fiscal Q1 2027 guidance of $10.3 billion to $10.8 billion in revenue and $44 to $46 in non-GAAP diluted EPS. Those figures are management’s projections, not reported results. The release said certain excluded compensation and other adjustments meant a full reconciliation of the non-GAAP guidance to GAAP could not be provided without unreasonable effort. Investors should distinguish the company’s GAAP results from its non-GAAP measures and review the company’s reconciliations when comparing performance.
Segment results show that growth was uneven. SanDisk reports its fiscal 2026 year ended July 3, 2026.

Recent growth and guidance
The sharp increase in reported sales and earnings, together with guidance for higher revenue and non-GAAP EPS in fiscal Q1 2027, gives the bullish case a concrete near-term foundation. But the stock’s reaction will depend on whether results and outlook exceed what investors already expect—not just whether they show growth compared with the prior year.
Data-center demand
Fiscal 2026 data-center revenue reached $5.153 billion, compared with $960 million in fiscal 2025. SanDisk attributed the increase to a shift toward higher-value customers and pricing. At its August 2026 Investor Day, the company argued that AI inference workloads and key-value cache are making data centers more storage-intensive. It estimated that the total available market for enterprise data-center flash could reach 1.2 zettabytes by 2030. That is SanDisk’s market estimate, not independent validation, and it does not establish how much revenue SanDisk can capture.

Customer agreements and shareholder returns
SanDisk reported signing five additional New Business Model agreements since its April earnings call: three with new customers and two expansions. Such agreements may help with demand visibility and capacity planning if both sides perform as expected. The board also approved an additional $14 billion share-repurchase authorization, bringing the company’s reported remaining authorization to $15.5 billion. An authorization permits repurchases; it does not promise that shares will be bought at a specific price or within a particular period.
Longer-term financial ambitions
At Investor Day, management projected mid-to-high-teens revenue growth, approximately 80% non-GAAP gross margins, approximately 75% non-GAAP operating margins, and roughly 50% adjusted free-cash-flow margin for fiscal 2028 through fiscal 2030. These are management expectations for a period beyond the 12-month question, not established results or evidence that comparable margins will arrive next year.
What could prevent SNDK from doubling?
A demanding expectation hurdle
The $3,320 doubling reference is above the $2,136.54 average analyst target in the October 7 snapshot. Reaching it would require business results, expectations for future results, the valuation investors are willing to pay, or some combination of the three to move beyond what the market already reflects. Exceptional year-over-year growth alone does not determine the share price.

Flash pricing and the industry cycle
SanDisk’s fiscal Q4 release attributed most sequential revenue growth to higher pricing rather than volume. Its fiscal 2026 Form 10-K describes flash memory as an industry exposed to volatile demand, declining average selling prices, rapid technological change, competition, consolidation, and lengthy qualification cycles. If supply catches up with demand or demand weakens, pricing and earnings could contract even while the company continues to sell products.
Delivery, customer, and supplier risks
The Form 10-K says New Business Model agreements generally require SanDisk to deliver, and customers to purchase, stated volumes over multiyear periods. If SanDisk falls short on delivery, it may face penalties or termination; if a customer does not perform, SanDisk may need to resell product at lower prices or may not be able to resell it, potentially leaving excess inventory or underused manufacturing capacity.
The filing also says SanDisk obtains all of its flash memory wafers from joint ventures with Kioxia and shares investment, capacity, and technology arrangements with that partner. The relationship supports supply and cost structure, but also creates dependence and coordination risks.

Volatility and valuation
The dated TECHi snapshot showed a 52-week SNDK range of $116 to $2,354.39. That range, alongside the wide analyst-target spread, illustrates how volatile expectations and prices have been; it does not predict the next year’s trading range. A rigorous valuation at a $3,320 share price would require current diluted shares, net cash or debt, forecasts of earnings and cash flows, normalized margins, and an assumed valuation multiple. The figures available here do not establish a discounted-cash-flow value or a justified target price.

For an investor evaluating the doubling scenario, the key question is not simply whether SanDisk can keep growing. It is whether growth can persist, whether the market will continue to reward it, and whether execution risks stay contained. Useful checkpoints include:
- Fiscal Q1 2027 results: compare reported revenue and margins with the guidance issued in August, while separating actual results from management’s earlier projection.
- Growth quality: watch whether revenue gains come from volumes, pricing, or both, since a price-led surge may not persist if industry supply and demand shift.
- Segment mix: track data-center growth alongside Edge and Consumer performance rather than assuming every end market moves together.
- Agreement execution: look for evidence that customer commitments translate into deliveries and purchases without penalties, cancellations, excess inventory, or underutilized capacity.
- Valuation expectations: compare the share price with updated earnings estimates and targets, remembering that analyst targets are opinions rather than probabilities.
All price and analyst-target figures above are snapshots from October 6–7, 2026, and SanDisk’s operating figures and guidance are dated to its August 2026 releases. They can become stale quickly as prices, estimates, and company outlook change.
