Corelight announced a $75 million Series D on September 2, 2021, led by Energy Impact Partners. The company said it would use the investment to expand globally and develop new data and cloud offerings; it did not provide a detailed spending breakdown.

What Corelight announced in 2021

The September 2, 2021 announcement described a $75 million Series D investment led by Energy Impact Partners. Corelight said the round brought its total funding raised to $160 million at that time. Those are company-reported figures from the announcement, not audited financial results. Corelight’s Series D announcement

What the company said it would do with the money

Corelight named two broad priorities: accelerating its global market presence and developing new data and cloud offerings. The announcement did not specify how much of the $75 million would go to either priority, identify particular markets, or provide a product-by-product spending plan. The funding announcement therefore sets out strategic aims, not a detailed budget or proof of completed expansion.

Who participated in the round

Energy Impact Partners led the investment. Corelight also named H.I.G. Growth Partners, Capital One Ventures, CrowdStrike Falcon Fund, and Gaingels among the participating investors, alongside earlier investors. Corelight’s announcement lists the round’s participants.

Why network monitoring was central to the announcement

Corelight described itself as an open network detection and response provider. Contemporaneous coverage characterized its platform as network traffic analysis based on Zeek, the open-source framework. SecurityWeek’s September 2, 2021 coverage provides that product context.

CEO Brian Dye framed the investment as support for the category and the company’s approach: “This latest investment is a powerful affirmation not only of the network detection and response category, but also of our open source heritage, data-centric approach, and commitment to customer success.” The company’s announcement contains the full statement.

The $75 million round was not Corelight’s latest funding announcement

Corelight announced a $150 million Series E on April 30, 2024. That later company announcement makes clear that the Series D is historical funding news, not the company’s latest announced round. The cited announcements do not establish Corelight’s financial or operational status in October 2026. Corelight’s April 30, 2024 Series E announcement
