Reuters also named Thoma Bravo as an interested potential buyer, citing two sources. One source said Thoma Bravo had made an earlier offer, but Reuters did not report when it was made or its price. The story did not say that Commvault accepted an offer or reached an agreement.
Reuters said Commvault, Goldman Sachs, and Thoma Bravo declined to comment. That is different from confirming the report: none of the three provided an on-record statement about the reported sale exploration in the account.

- Whether the bidder is a private-equity firm or a strategic buyer.
- Whether consideration is cash, stock, or a combination, and the value assigned to Commvault.
- How firmly the offer is financed and what conditions must be met.
- Potential regulatory review or other obstacles to closing.
