Coles introduced a limited-time Christmas plush collection in 2025, with shoppers and PerthNow comparing its character designs to Jellycat Amuseables. PerthNow reported the Coles toys cost less than A$20, but the seasonal items are not confirmed to be available now.
What were the Coles plush toys?
PerthNow reported on 21 November 2025 that a Melbourne shopper posted a TikTok showing the toys at a local Coles. The festive collection included plush Christmas trees, wreaths, gingerbread men, Santas, Christmas puddings and elves. Coles described it as a first for the retailer and an exclusive seasonal collection.
The comparison with Jellycat Amuseables was about style: both were described as character plush toys shaped like familiar objects, with small eyes and a smile. Shoppers’ “fake Jellycats” and “similar vibe” comments were reactions, not proof that the products were identical or connected to Jellycat. Coles did not claim they were Jellycats, and the report did not indicate Jellycat endorsed them.
How much did the Coles range cost?
PerthNow reported that the Coles toys cost less than A$20. It also said a Coles toy cost less than 10 per cent of the price of a Jellycat item. The report did not identify the exact models or explain the price calculation, so that comparison should not be treated as a precise saving for every toy.

Are the Coles Christmas plush toys still available?
The 2025 collection was reported as limited-time, and its current availability is not established. Later Coles catalogue listings are for separate products, not evidence that the Christmas designs remain in stock.
For example, Coles’s Adorables Hearts listing describes a plush with a face and dangly legs, but showed it as unavailable when accessed on 8 October 2026. A separate Licensed Micro Plush Assorted listing showed A$9 when accessed that day. Coles says prices and ranges can vary by store and location, so that listing does not establish the price or availability of the 2025 Christmas collection.

What has been reported about Jellycat’s legal action?
Lawyerly reported on 9 July 2026 that Jellycat had filed an intellectual-property suit against Coles, alleging that Coles sold poorer-quality copycat versions of its Christmas tree and wreath soft toys. That is a reported allegation, not a court finding. The report did not provide a case number, court document, response from Coles or disposition, and the case’s status and outcome are not established here.

PerthNow’s November 2025 article said Jellycat accounted for “more than 20 per cent of all plush toy sales globally in 2024.” The report did not identify the statistic’s original publisher or methodology, so this should be understood as a figure reported by PerthNow, not independently verified market data.
